[The thing about Carmen is that she is, at heart, a problem-solver. Spending her adolescence as the greatest detective in the world was one manifestation of that; in that case, the problem was a crime, and the solution was bringing the criminal to justice. Her flip into a life of crime herself, perhaps surprisingly, was still just a continuation of that same trend, albeit this time on the other side of the law — and this time, the problem is the question of whether or not she's capable of pulling off her latest whimsical crime, and the solution is...well, to find out.
This time, though, it's Reid's anxiety about crowds that's the problem, and so naturally she's found a way to fix it — the same setting, just minus the swarms of people. Convincing the bar owner to let them in after hours was an interesting challenge, but not a particularly difficult one. (And naturally, she'd gone with the legitimate means of asking politely and offering cash, because FBI agents are always so touchy about questions of legality. It's cute, really.)
And it seems to have done the trick, since Reid seems relatively at ease in their surroundings — and, amusingly enough, intent on playing host.]
Is bartending among your many talents now?
[She's far from a regular drinker, but there are the underpinnings of a game here (there are always games waiting to be played, if one only looks for them), and she fully intends to test the waters and see if he'll play it.]
hurr this is either going to be beautiful or terrible or both
