Since her world doesn't have murder, FBI, therapists, etc, his job and role is something she's still trying to grasp but can't entirely fathom. As of now, she seems him kind of like a knight, though not the usual sort. He is at once both incredibly strong, courageous and brave - while at the same time she wants to give him a hug, pet his hair, and let him know it's all right. She doesn't want to pry any further into his business (she's not even sure she could handle it) but she wants to stay by him to keep an eye on those night terrors he's been having. So yeah, he's a mystical guardian warrior that needs lots of cuddling.
She thinks that he's a very very great pirate person and she's excited to meet a pirate! Since she's not wary of a lot of things, she'd believe anything he says since he's that awesome in her eyes, meaning that his not-so-good advices become absolutely-and-undeniably-good advices. It's a wonderful trainwreck.
She. Is. So. Cute. Cheria really wants to try and get a shiny for her, and thinks she is a very sweet kid. Shinies need protecting and all, and sweet people are definitely the ones to do that :)
Do. Not. Want. xD She's yet to see him much in the way of his now kinder behavior, so she still thinks he's the guy who attacked Sora, got Ven hurt when he got his butt caught by TR, and broke Xion's arm. She really doesn't like him one bit, to be completely honest, and the only IC reason he's escaped being turtleflipped is because Ven trusts him and she trusts Ven. She's, of course, watching him like a hawk as much as she can, so maybe she'll come around. Maybe. >>
xD Someday, perhaps. Though it's liable to break her brain a little that the guy she knew in passing turned into the guy he is now. She's no stranger to change, but...yeaaaah. xD
Okay, I've said this a million times before and I will probably continue to say it a million more, but Reid reminds Albert of Coop (circa five, ten years ago) so damn much that there's definitely some projecting going on there, but it's mild and not at all in a bad way. The thing with Reid is that he still seems to have a lot of that whole "bright-eyed and bushy-tailed new kid on the force" thing to him — and that was really what originally made Albert peg him as so much younger than he was, not his looks — and Albert's kind of old and jaded and cranky, but he remembers being like that once. He remembers Coop being like that once, too, and there's some history there with that, because there was a case in particular where Coop ended up dead for two minutes before they were able to bring him back, after which he fell into a pretty hefty depression, and Albert has always been kind of the one who pulls him back up out of that and sort of anchors him when he's in trouble. And he sees a lot of that in Reid, too, that need for anchoring and the occasional (or frequent) kick in the head, and it's natural for him to do it, so he just kind of does.
The other two ways that Reid has really had an advantage in terms of getting on Albert's good side are that a) he's fucking smart and b) he's FBI. Albert likes smart people, and he's very much used to being the smartest one in the room at any given time — he was first in his class at Yale, for one thing, and if you pay close attention to his behavior in canon, his insults are pretty much always targeted toward disparaging the other party's intellect. It's never about how they look or some other cheap shot; it's always "god, you're stupid, and I am so much smarter than you." So with Reid it's like OH. A SMART PERSON. OH THANK GOD. SOMEONE WHO UNDERSTANDS. Particularly since Albert remembers what it's like to be the weird kid who nobody likes because he's too smart for his peer group, and so he can commiserate on that, too.
But the easiest one is that Reid is FBI, and Albert operates on a pretty firm Bro Code when it comes to the Bureau. In canon he takes a pretty strong "us/them" mentality, where the "us" is "people who are FBI agents" and the "them" is "everyone else". He's HUGE on the idea of Bureau men looking out for their own, because that's just what you do — you take care of your guys. Period.
So basically, as far as Albert is concerned, Reid is one of the few actually tolerable people in Johto and he legitimately cares a lot about him. Granted, he'll probably always be "the kid" in Albert's book, but he's absolutely as much a member of The Team as Gordon and Coop are by now.
Watching him closely on account of TR membership, so trust isn't a thing yet, but she's got a kind of...respect for him? Something like that, because she knows sticking his neck out is more likely to get him caught and in trouble than anything. She also appreciates what he's done to get the Corps intel.
On a more personal level...>> if not for the Corps, it's likely they never would have talked. That should say enough.
Menma thinks Cheria is the nicest person she ever talked to here, other than Mitsuki! I mean, giving an egg for free and even offering to give her a shiny for free as well, it's the sweetest thing. Menma would do anything to help Cheria back anytime, because that's also what friends are for! <3
Envy is still pretty weirded out by how friendly she is to him, especially since he knows she knows about at least some of the stuff the homunculi have done. It makes a little more sense to him now that she's explained it as him not having done anything terrible in Johto and him not being the same Envy as from her world, but he still doesn't really get it. But as long as she's being friendly, he'll roll with it! He really doesn't have any problem with her personally, and he's sort of gotten over hating humanity in general during his two years in Johto on account of being befriended and adopted by a whole bunch of humans. So he'll keep being friendly to her! But he doesn't count them as actual friends, for a lot of obvious reasons. >>
...okay and also secretly he thinks it's really funny to be on such friendly terms with Winry when he knows it would drive Ed and Al crazy. But he does like talking to her because she's nice to him too.
He kind of reminds her of Ikuto, which is a good thing or at least it seems to be a good thing. Otherwise she probably wouldn't even talk with him... Maybe. But since she feels like she knows like half of his personality type, or something ... whatever, it kind of makes it easier to talk to him? She honestly didn't think that they'd have a second conversation, but surprise, she's traveling with him and they've had about million conversations after that. It's a weird mix of trying to keep him away from herself / not letting him know too much about her and still trying to help him get out of Team Rocket at the same time. ...Because yeah, Utau can definitely see that him getting out of it sooner or later I think they've talked about it by now, but our threads take forever which is wonderful, but ... anyway <.<.
Ren is a ...not a friend, no, but something almost like a friend, almost. If he gets in her way, she won't let him stay there and she doesn't trust him completely etc etc, but she's not the most trustworthy person either, so that's okay. Utau kind of likes his company. He's not annoying when they're alone, check below about girls being around, and she's kind of almost showing different sides of her in front of him by now... And he's used to her rude answers by now, pffffft.
If she wasn't the "loves one person at a time" type, she possibly maybe probably idontknow could have a crush on him, but... she's the type and you'll just have to deal with it. Oh, except she really kind of hates or at least dislikes (with passion) how Ren talks to all the girls. Hello Bachelor, Prince Charming, Whatever You Are, that's not how you do it if you ever want to charm this girl and make her think that she's your number one. So, she wouldn't even take him seriously about love stuff, sob T-T.
TL;DR, she's less quiet in his company by now, and I forgot some stuff, but... it's complicated, but she doesn't hate him or love him. It's something between hate and love, both dislike and like maybe.
Last but not least:
HOW DARE YOU LEAVE ME ALONE TO THE EVIL TEAM?!! ...No but actually it's good that you'll get out of it.
Anyway, Reid actually really likes the both of them, and I'm one of those weirdos who likes analyzing characters and never shuts up, so be prepared for lengthiness.
First off, Albert. Albert is, surprisingly, the one Reid is most comfortable with out of the whole Twin Peaks cast. Albert is gruff and cantankerous and sarcastic, but he's very honest about himself, and he's very honest about how he feels. He's abrasive, but he's safe, and that is a trait that is invaluable to someone like Reid. His innate certainty in himself and his perceptions reassures Reid on some level as well--while he always has lingering doubt as to his own sanity, Albert has a way of squashing those doubts without knowing he's doing it, even if it's only a temporary squashing.
The fact that Albert won't overtly baby him is also a major plus, since Reid is sick and tired of people treating him like he's twelve when he's thirty. Since Albert's insults and sarcasm towards him are never particularly cruel or vitriolic, Reid doesn't mind them at all, and could happily spend a lot of time around him despite that (possibly even because of that, because his abrasive but ultimately kind personality is part of what assures Reid of Albert's fundamental honesty). Because of all that, Reid really responds when Albert gives him a verbal smack when he starts to panic or isn't seeing the obvious, and he's extremely grateful for the help.
Although on the flip side, Reid would find it difficult to confide in Albert about anything, since he values Albert's respect and doesn't want to make Albert start considering him a victim or look down on him. Reid hates his vulnerabilities, and he feels like sharing any of them--that he was forcefully shot up and became a drug addict, that he is at real risk of inheriting schizophrenia, that he has serious issues with any kind of emotional intimacy, that he's been deeply affected by all the horrible cases he's dealt with, that he had the childhood from hell, so on and so forth--would cause Albert to lose respect and start babying him like everyone else.
In a nutshell, while Reid is far from blind to Albert's faults, he respects him and recognizes that Albert can get through to him in ways most people can't. And yet he still would have serious issues revealing more of himself to him, because he feels that would make him seem weak.
In comparison, Reid's thoughts on Carmen are easy to articulate. He honestly does find her attractive and enjoys their flirts and games, but he would probably get a little frightened if anything more serious happened just yet, because he doesn't know how to navigate romantic and/or sexual entanglements very well and he doesn't want to put his issues out on display for her. He's slowly letting her worm closer to him, since she's not out to hurt anyone and any illegal activity she does is for the sake of the game than the profit, but there's too much mystery for him to feel completely comfortable yet.
EDITED TO ADD: Carmen is actually really fascinating to him, because she's hard to pin down. For a profiler, that's a challenge and that immediately snaps up his attention, almost as much as all the trivia quizzes. He likes her and he wants to figure her out, but he'd be frightened by the idea of her figuring him out.
At the moment, he wouldn't feel comfortable with talking about himself too much beyond talk of education and the occasional anecdote about a case. Even if he isn't always conscious of it, his first instinct is to protect himself, and he'd only be moderately okay with revealing the same amount about himself to Carmen as she reveals about herself to him. I think as time goes on, he'll come to trust her more, but at the moment, he's very happy with her intellectual games and happy that for once he's able to flirt with a woman without Morgan coaching him beforehand. That's what happens when you hit on a topic he's confident with, Carmen.
Phew. And there you have it. Hope your eyes didn't bleed from WALL O' TEXT.
