Re: the love I would give you adorable little goobers...
I don't think there's much I could say that could expand on my feelings more than the praise most of you have already received. At least, not coherently... But my favorite part of the day is checking up on what's going on at Route--whether I've received tags or not. I enjoy flipping through threads, grinning to myself or sometimes coming down with a bad case of the 'feels'. With my RL friends, I probably talk about you guys more than is normal. Seriously, it's to the point that my parents sometimes ask about in-game stuff if I've been chattering.

Basically, I LOVE YOU ALL AND THE PAST YEAR+ HAS BEEN GREAT AND WORTH IT, NO MATTER THE VARIOUS UPS AND DOWNS.

Wow, of course I'd be late to one of these!

WELL, I've missed a few in the past, but you know what, that means I haven't typed up a big long love letter for the game in quite some time, and I think it's a good day to do that again.

So I've been in this game for going on three years. This is the third Christmas and New Year I've seen come around in this game, and in all that time, there's been a lot of changes.

This year in particular was a rough one for many of us. It was the first year spent on Dreamwidth, during which our pace dwindled but never disappeared, as quite a few naysayers had predicted (not just about Route, but about a lot of games that made the move)! We've been through a couple sets of mods-- and I myself stepped down from the tech position. We've seen the usual number of people come and go, but also lost quite a few of our oldest players and characters, all of whom I and many others miss dearly.

But even though I'm sad to have seen so many people come and go, I am still SO grateful that this game exists and that I've had the honor of being a part of it for so long. I've made some amazing friends and gotten to watch so many people build stories and relationships, and I've even been able to participate in some of them! Like, wow. The wonder of that literally never wears off no matter how much I think about it.

I haven't been nearly as active this year as I was in the past... so I don't have quite as much to ramble on about as I sometimes have before.

But there's a new year coming and I look forward to making lots of new memories with Route people old AND new.

So with that in mind...
