That's because there isn't any. Assuming the mastermind has no power here, and there are no walls keeping us in, it's true that we're not in a position where cooperation is to some degree necessary.

[She gives him one of her silent, calculating looks — not precisely judging, just appraising.]

But no, ahem. It's a little awkward all around because if there's one person that Chihiro's never been great at talking to, it's Togami. But they can't stand here staring at each other after greetings forever.]

[Sitting down drinking tea outside one ritzy dinning establishment in Goldenrod is a pale-skinned young woman with some ridiculously large twintails. Her frilly and lacy outfit, combined with her obvious poise and grace make her seem like some kind of duchess. Certainly a woman worthy of respect.

...however, the image becomes a bit silly once you turn your head slightly. Off to the side of the young woman is a Gothita, sitting down on a chair much too big for it, mimicking her trainer by drinking from a much smaller teacup in the exact same manner.

There is an open chair in front of her, and should your character approach chances are she'll invite them over for a spot of tea.]

[No, actually, the body was still warm and there was no rigor mortis and it was awkward and uncomfortable. The jury's still out over whether finding out Chihiro was a boy made it more uncomfortable or less.

The trial was worth it, though. Or so he's told himself since.]

I'm-- fine.

[He thought he didn't feel any guilt about using Chihiro's body to his own ends. After all, the boy definitely hadn't been using it anymore, and even though the story of Chihiro's secret had been interesting, it had also been moot. After all, Chihiro was dead.

Things changed somewhat when Chihiro was standing right in front of him. He suddenly hoped that Chihiro had no idea what had happened.]

[It's not so bad, really. Dead or not, there are worse people to be around than Fujisaki. His cheery demeanor is pretty much guaranteed to perk you right up — even when you're fighting tooth and nail to be an emotionless robot.]

Myself, Asahina-san, you, Ishimaru-kun, Naegi-kun...that leaves one unaccounted for.

[Unless it's Togami. Gently caress, it better not be Togami.]

[He doesn't hesitate to say so, even though he looks down and to the side. Though it's more out of thoughtfulness than any uncertainty.]

Eh? [A little surprised, Chihiro sort of assumes...that Togami is one of those ones from after his trial. Like Naegi or Asahina... So maybe he's surprised? Or maybe Chihiro's just jumping to conclusions...

Either way, he nods and offers a tentative smile.]

Y-yes... I'm well. This is a pretty peaceful place to be, and there aren't too many things to worry about.

[And they have adorable fighting monsters.]

[Togami returned the appraising look with an added eyebrow raise, his green-blue eyes staring sharply at Kirigiri.]

I'll oblige. What advantages could traveling as a group provide?

[He already knows that his own starter has no weaknesses and three immunities. So he can't have anything to gain in that regard.]

How can you not know what Konoha is when you're one of the founders? [WAIT.] I mean, unless that didn't happen yet?

[Well, that settles some things, at least. Like why Ishimaru isn't tripping balls right now, for example. That also makes the count an even split — three and three, alive and dead. Three victims and three survivors.

Presumably Fujisaki-kun must know who murdered him, though. He seems to be taking it well enough (though who can say "how" a dead person ought to take being dead, when obviously there should be no way to obtain evidence of that in the first place — this is so weird), so perhaps in her absence her classmates have...reached an accord about things, of some variety. Hmm.]

I see. And according to Ishimaru-kun, the five of you — the six of us, now — are attempting to live out a new life here in this place, free of the walls of our old school. Is that correct?

[He is not sure how to even process all this, but watch as Naruto most likely flings even more at him...]

What about as a distraction? If we've established that this clearly isn't the world outside, yet you've confirmed that we've vanquished the mastermind, then the natural conclusion is that there must be an unknown secondary force establishing the parameters of this scenario. You said it yourself in the beginning: out of one game "and into another".

Even if you refuse to concede that the other pieces on the game board might measure up to your own aptitude — a conclusion which may or may not be correct, but that we can assume here for the sake of the argument — that still doesn't mean they're entirely without value. They might provide useful information or prior experiences from which you could learn and make strategies. They also might facilitate your own ends, assuming you're capable of positioning them in such a way to achieve that. To say nothing of the fact that your behavior toward Genocider demonstrates clearly that you are aware of the advantages of numbers, assuming the numbers are well-controlled and work in your favor.

And if none of that is enough to content you, then there still remains the point that adding more variables to a situation fairly guarantees added complexity, and I can hardly imagine Togami Byakuya-kun turning down the opportunity to make a game more interesting.

[Well, no, not if you're dead, seeing as how rationally speaking it's entirely preferable to be alive and creating a new life in a delusion than it is to be cut off from any attempt at a life in the first place on the grounds that you are in fact dead.

Honestly, she doesn't really want to answer the question in the first place, though. Who is she to say what's bad or not. It's safer just to observe, and to hold things to rational, objective standards. It's better that way.

On the other hand, this is Fujisaki, who is rationally and objectively by definition everyone's precious soul. So okay...she'll take a shot at making him feel a little better. He probably deserves that.]

Is this a good place to be? It's hard to say it's bad to want to stay here if it's not dangerous and you enjoy it.

That still doesn't explain where the game entity came from, or who created it. Regardless of whether it's capable of functioning independent of a human controller, it still had to come from somewhere.
