Seeing as how it's been about seven months since the last time we did this, it's high time for another...

TEST DRIVE MEME!

Post with the characters you're thinking of apping in to see how they do! Either they've been here a while, are just arriving, or anything you want!

Have fun!

[Small talk. HER MORTAL WEAKNESS. Along with, you know, all the other stuff.]

I'm not certain. But I suppose it's silly to try to answer a question like that without knowing where I am in the first place.

[Spoilers: that's actually a lie; she totally read her entire Gear inside and out long before this. But it never hurts to see if the natives have their stories straight, for confirmation.]
tentacletrainer: (It's a pleasure I assure you.)

I wasn't sure where you wanted to have her...or i'm blind and i missed that.

[personal profile] tentacletrainer 2013-08-06 03:45 am (UTC)(link)
Ah, a newcomer! Well, right now you're in the world of Pokemon! It must be rather jarring compared to your home world. You'll get used to it though, I assure you.

[[She's not really native so much as she's just been here for two years.]]

Right now you're in Johto to be specific, near the ocean city of Olivine. A lovely area to visit.
cluesandploys: (ASIDE ❈ ishimaru's tripping balls again)

She's open to any location so you're just fine! <3

[personal profile] cluesandploys 2013-08-06 03:49 am (UTC)(link)
Jarring. Yes, it's...jarring.

[That is a safe and noncommittal answer that is technically accurate as pertaining to describing the situation.

This is really weird, though.

Johto. That was the...western region listed on the map. Olivine was the one fairly far west, too, though not the furthest in.

#details]

In other words, "it could be worse"?
tentacletrainer: (Well if you insist!)

Eee <3

[personal profile] tentacletrainer 2013-08-06 03:59 am (UTC)(link)
Ah, not at all! Well...okay, I suppose everything could always be worse. But really, all of Johto is beautiful. I haven't been to a place yet that I haven't enjoyed.
cluesandploys: (DEDUCE ❈ but did the killer bring a flag)

Also please bear with me, I have no idea what I'm doing here.

[personal profile] cluesandploys 2013-08-06 04:03 am (UTC)(link)
You said "your home world". Are you not native to this one?
tentacletrainer: (That's very kind of you to say.)

No bearing necessary! Having no idea is the best way to start rping in route.

[personal profile] tentacletrainer 2013-08-06 04:05 am (UTC)(link)
Correct, I'm not! Much like yourself, I was brought here. By whom or what, we have no idea, just to get that question out of the way. Everyone has their theories but none can be or have been proven right yet.

[personal profile] cluesandploys 2013-08-06 04:10 am (UTC)(link)
["Yet" is right. SHSL Detective in the house, baby.]

What do these theories entail?
tentacletrainer: (Well it's all very simple really.)

[personal profile] tentacletrainer 2013-08-06 04:32 am (UTC)(link)
Mad scientists, mad science - typical theories. If you get all the badges you can go home - which as been disproved. Legendary Pokemon are the cause and the only way to go home - which is plausible. My own deals with a sort of 'dream world' like property.
cluesandploys: (WATCH ❈ srsly togami what the hell tho)

[personal profile] cluesandploys 2013-08-06 04:35 am (UTC)(link)
Meaning, none of us are really here; we're all collectively sharing an experience in our own heads through some external means of connection.
tentacletrainer: (How utterly quaint.)

[personal profile] tentacletrainer 2013-08-06 04:40 am (UTC)(link)
Correct. To support this theory: we can't die. We merely, miraculously, appear back at a Pokemon Center before reaching death to be taken care of. Occasionally, we will fall into week long 'comas' in which we return home and live out part of our life again. My theory assumes we have merely woken up.

There is also a Pokemon here heavily involved in the world of dreams. Munna and Musharna.
cluesandploys: (PONDER ❈ those cheetos look important)

[personal profile] cluesandploys 2013-08-06 04:43 am (UTC)(link)
Still, that would require someone imposing such a collective experience upon us, which in turn suggests a...multiversal entity with resources extensive enough to arrange for a mass dream in the first place. To say nothing of how such an entity would manage to get its hands on us in the first place, regardless of our...circumstances.
tentacletrainer: (What are you suggesting?)

of course she comes up with this idea on a test drive meme instead of in game canon

[personal profile] tentacletrainer 2013-08-06 07:35 am (UTC)(link)
Not necessarily. Perhaps it just takes...a game entity.

[[...if she really thought about it. Pokemon is a game. Sburb was able to take people from across the universe, no matter the places or time or time period...it could influence everyone. Past selves, future selves, doomed selves, alternative selves...on Earth, in the game, in the furthest ring, in a different universe, on a different planet..........]]
cluesandploys: (GRITTED ❈ chapter three was bullshit)

[personal profile] cluesandploys 2013-08-06 07:43 am (UTC)(link)
A game entity?

[POSSIBLY THE WRONG CHOICE OF WORDS, THERE.]
tentacletrainer: (Well it says piece A attaches to piece B)

[personal profile] tentacletrainer 2013-08-06 07:46 am (UTC)(link)
[[Oops...]]

A game entity, yes. See, in my home world, my life was practically controlled by a video game of destiny called SBURB. Earth was destroyed, we were transported to these different planets, and we had to play the game. And this game affected people from different universes in different timelines. It affected versions of ourselves in the future, in the past, who were doomed to die...

It controlled everything.

Also in my home world?

Pokemon was a video game.

[...So basically this person is batshit crazy, then. Probably not a reliable source of information, as a result.

Gently caress.]

And you think something like that is at play here.
tentacletrainer: (Default)

[personal profile] tentacletrainer 2013-08-06 07:51 am (UTC)(link)
[[If you think she's crazy, just you wait until you meet some of the other people who are around here.

Then we'll see who is crazy.]]

It's a theory at least. May or may not be possible, but at this point, with how many odd things happen here, nothing can really be counted as impossible.
cluesandploys: (DEDUCE ❈ but did the killer bring a flag)

[personal profile] cluesandploys 2013-08-06 07:53 am (UTC)(link)
When you say "odd things", what do you mean by that?

[Because let's be real, if that were a text box, "odd things" would have been underlined and waiting to be followed-up upon.]
tentacletrainer: (Well it's all very simple really.)

[personal profile] tentacletrainer 2013-08-06 08:00 am (UTC)(link)
Beyond the fact that you now find yourself in possession of a handful of powerful, might as well be 'magical' creatures, you can't die no matter how badly you injured you become? A handful of these Pokemon are telepaths, able to speak directly to your mind as well as read it if they wish. Most Pokemon that should be able to be ridden while flying can't until you teach them Fly. Team Rocket were able to create a mutagen that spread through the air, infecting people with the power of Pokemon and appropriate physical changes. The world was almost brought to an end by giant rock and ice creatures. The list goes on, really.
cluesandploys: (PONDER ❈ those cheetos look important)

[personal profile] cluesandploys 2013-08-06 03:49 pm (UTC)(link)
And you're attributing that to the "game experience"; somehow, it's been written into the rules of the phenomenon that such things can exist, by whatever standards of logic this particular "game" has opted to follow.
tentacletrainer: (Why don't we ask fate?)

[personal profile] tentacletrainer 2013-08-06 08:15 pm (UTC)(link)
Exactly.

[[See, it's not that crazy of a theory!]]
cluesandploys: (TURN ❈ gotta go feed my dragons)

[personal profile] cluesandploys 2013-08-06 08:50 pm (UTC)(link)
That still doesn't explain where the game entity came from, or who created it. Regardless of whether it's capable of functioning independent of a human controller, it still had to come from somewhere.
