[Let me help out a little: "religion" is a word you use when you're aware of the possibility of secularism to begin with. When it's just something that's ingrained into every aspect of life - and then turns out to be real - it's called "how the world works" and isn't very easy to wrap up in a neat little package.

I've never given much thought to God in my life. For all that's spoken of Him, the only powers I've ever been concerned with have been wrought by humans...until all this Samurai business, of course.
But demons - ha! - they're...they're another thing entirely. Some of them speak of being Gods or ghosts or something of the sort, and I don't doubt them, but I'd not trust one as far as I could throw one. That's not to say that I don't enjoy dealing with them, but they're not beings I'd ever dare bow to.
