He had a feeling he'd like her when he saw her speaking to Hagakure. However, he took a step back in fear that she was death. (Which they worked though that.) Basically he likes that she's weird and is open to strange things like he is and tolerating him! And she gave him something for a Christmas present. Basically, he's very fond of her and doesn't want her involved in Rocket affairs or knowing that he is a Rocket. Because he totally has that in his head that will ruin everything now.
