Icon keywords are very appropriate here because wow Cobra you are a joke at times and it's a good thing they communicate over text so Cobra's never seen the amount of eye-rolling Rude does when he's giving out orders. Rude has met his share of eccentric baddies but at least those were real amoral sadistic and twisted madmen who wanted to take over the world. But then again it's not really a fair comparison. Rude's holding Cobra to an extremely high standard because let's face it no one can hold a candle to Sephiroth. Or Fujito. Or the king himself: Hojo.

Credit has to be given when it's due though. Rude does find Cobra's missions fun; they're not very elegantly crafted and mostly involve making things go boom but hey at least they're risky enough that Rude can keep himself entertained for a few days for the planning and execution. He doesn't really care about Cobra's goal or even about Team Rocket really; he just wants to not be bored and given the radio silence from the Team Rocket superiors Cobra's the next best thing he's got. And that plot about pretending to be booted from Team Rocket to fool the rest of the network's got some potential to really shake things up a bit.

So tl;dr Cobra he'll stick around to see what else you've got for him, but he'll never admit to working for you because wow, that'd be embarrassing.
