But yeah Envy has at long last become one of those friends who Heather's known for a long time but feels like it's only now that she's realizing how much there is to him, and how much he may potentially be able to understand the things that she hasn't been able to talk about to anyone else.

Because as much as she's successfully opened up about her problems to other people she's grown close to, "I MAY IN FACT NOT BE HUMAN, AND MY NOT-HUMANNESS IS IN FACT SPECIFICALLY MONSTERNESS" isn't really something that regular people can understand, even the ones who are open-minded and wouldn't judge for it.

She already knew his past was dark, but now she's starting to realize that they have a lot in common.

It's delicate ground, but she'll be starting to tread it. The more he mentions, the more curious she is, too.
