But haha awwww, yeah Heather thinks Mimi's a good kid. She sort of reminds her of her old friend Rise so talking to her is SUPER NOSTALGIC.

ENVY. Envy has become so important to Heather.

In her time in Route, she's honestly been through a lot of friends and surrogate family-- and that's not a slight on all her past CR or anything, it's just kind of... A LONG EXTENDED HISTORY OF RELATIONSHIPS and all of it has really affected her. As of right now, Envy has kind of reached that 'surrogate family' status. He went from being an acquaintance to a friend and at this point, he's one of the few people left who's been in Johto for most of the time that she has.

Between that and the fact that they've started connecting on their BIZARRELY SIMILAR PASTS AND ORIGINS, she relates to Envy in a way that she hasn't quite been able to with most of her other friends.

The fact that he's developed her sort of sense of humor helps, too!

But in all seriousness as aggravating as he can be, he doesn't actually make Heather all that angry? Like she was pissed off for the punchbowl stunt, but she sees a lot of herself in him, because EVEN THOUGH SHE STILL ACTS LIKE A BRATTY TEEN MOST OF THE TIME she is technically an adult now and has grown up a fair bit over the years, enough that she tends to find herself looking at young teens and seeing them as kids rather than her peers. That's not to say that she looks DOWN on them, more just that like... she remembers that, she remembers being there, and even though she's NOT there anymore, she can relate. A LOT.

So while she'd rather avoid being a sanctimonious grownup asshole, she can't help but be a bit of an obnoxious big sister about stuff.

Basically Yusuke is a little shit but SHE WAS ALSO A LITTLE SHIT (AND IS, FOR THE MOST PART, STILL A LITTLE SHIT) so she's not holding it against him. TEENS WILL BE TEENS.

JUST THE VERY BEST this is going to be so long

Envy hates Al's guts. And he thinks that it's perfectly justified (even though NO IT'S NOT AT ALL). Envy already hated Al just for being born; to him, Ed and Al are the perfect human sons that Hohenheim replaced him with and loves. They have everything he wanted: a happy childhood, parents that loved them (even though Hoho left, Envy doesn't count it as the same thing), natural genius at alchemy, friends, and a chance. And this is something he is still bitterly jealous about, but in Route it's actually much less so because now he has his own friends and surrogate family and happiness. There's also the fact that they performed human transmutation, which sets off Envy's hate buttons something fierce. He doesn't think they deserve to get their bodies back period, because they should suffer for what they did. And when Al told him that Hohenheim is going to kill him so that the three of them presumably go home and live happy lives as a family...yeah. That's what Envy would consider Worst Possible End, and it rattled him badly.

AND SPEAKING OF SLOTH. Envy has a problem with selective memory, especially when it confirms biases he already had. So even though Al handled the Sloth situation like a champ, Envy only remembers all the things Ed was shouting about her being their mistake to fix and not a real person and etc and he's putting that on Al too. And Sloth was one of the few homunculi that Envy did get along halfway decently with, and the two of them had similar thoughts on not wanting to be the humans they once were. He's not broken up about her dying, they weren't close, but it's a sore point for him that she did and how she did.

WHICH FINALLY BRINGS US TO ROUTE. Envy is much more stable here and he has things he didn't have in canon, and it's a lot harder for him to hate Al with as much nonstop vitriol and want to murder him five times immediately. Somewhere in there, he managed to realize that Al isn't the person to fly across the country to attack, which is why he called Heather to help him not do that. Putting Al right in front of his face is a different story. It still rankles that Al is here at all, because this is Envy's happy place and how dare Al show up here and bring all this back up when he was starting to forget about it, rararara etc. This is something that hasn't happened when the manga versions of the brothers have shown up, because they have a different story and he doesn't have near the same reaction to them. And it bothers him that apparently Lust is friendly enough with Al to go through the haunted house with him, but he's willfully not realizing/in denial over the extent of the friendliness.

oh gross it's Scar

On a scale of one to Hohenheim, Envy's dislike of Scar is hovering around a four. He doesn't hate Scar, but he certainly doesn't like him. And a lot of this has to do with Lust, and the way Envy saw him talking to her. Envy hasn't witnessed much in the way of them being cutely not!dating, and he did see them having a huge argument where Lust got upset, and he knows from their conversation about it that Lust is having a lot of emotional trouble with being in love with this guy. He's also worried that Scar doesn't really care about Lust, but really just wants her to be who she was before. That's based in the-way-things-usually-were-in-Amestris paranoia more than what he's seen in reality.

But at the same time, he wants Lust to be happy and if Scar makes Lust happy for whatever reason he'll do what he can for that. And he'll grudgingly help Scar when absolutely necessary, because he's Lust's Person and she would be upset if he didn't.

He'll do as much prodding and teasing (and things like extra jumping out at the haunted house) as he's able to get away with, because Scar is very easy to rile up and Envy thinks it's funny to rile up people he doesn't like, which is different from his 'being a shit because I do like you'. In one, he keeps in mind the other person's feelings. In the other, he sure doesn't. Guess which is which. But he likes having his limbs attached and he doesn't want to cause a lot of trouble for Lust, so he'll be at least a little cautious.

For Asami, Envy's interested in what she's told him of her world, and she's a lot of fun to snark back and forth with. He considers her a 'friendly' acquaintance.

Envy did not expect to get invested in Jimmy at all when he responded to that post! If he'd known before he started talking that Jimmy had been asking for help, he probably would have gone into it with the intention of being the opposite of helpful.

But then Jimmy started talking about past lives and not remembering and wondering about being real and it pinged Envy really hard about his own issues. It pretty much flipped the switch from 'some random stranger I don't care about' to 'young homunculus that I should try to help', even if it wasn't a conscious thing. It's a good thing that they started out their CR with this, because now that Envy thinks of him like that he's going to be much more tolerant of Jimmy's boundless enthusiasm.

Well good because they TOTALLY AREN'T BEING CUTE AND NOT!DATING and Scar would probably curl up in a ball of shame if Envy ever saw them like that. Which just really means that it should happen.
