Xion doesn't know what happened to Korra back at home, but she can super relate and she wants to try to do what she can to put a smile on her face, that's a good impression as far as she can understand because if she's not scared of someone right off the bat it's usually a good sign. The only older lady figure she knew back in her own world was Larxene who is......scary beyond all reason so yeah let's not think about that. She doesn't know anything about family units at the moment, but if she could put a name to it Korra would kind of remind her of an older sister type.

Maka thinks Korra is super cool and hopes that some of her talk about her own world hasn't put her off. But she seems kinda chill with it so??? She's really super curious about these weird parallels that their worlds have, even if it's stuff that was so long ago in the history of her own world it's defunct now. Korra arrived in a weird time in Maka's life, where she just lost a bunch of her friends and even the first one that she made in Johto/considered her best friend, so she's a little...warier about making friends? But she won't give up!! Friendship is important! and yeah she gets the "in need of girlfriends" sentiment what's up with all these guys she hangs out with
