[But she doesn't know what it is so she's digging into her pocket to get her 'gear and look it up.]

Huh, okay. Well, like this one is a -- dragon type? Really? -- there are also electric types. Was hoping I could use one as an example, but we're apparently both fresh outta that. Their attacks are kind of like lightning from storms, and that's the same zappy energy they use for appliances, if you can imagine that.

Oh, okay. I... I still haven't fought a lot of Pokemon here. I've had a few battles, but most Pokemon I just ask if we can pass by and they let us.

[Ryu's finally pulled her full attention again.]

I mean, I doubt PK would let us get away with that, but that's pretty cool of them.

PK? ... But yeah. ... I've always been good with animals. At least ones that aren't actively attacking me.

She's my little brat monster. Not a bad girl, but likes to get into trouble anyway.

[Izabel grins.]

Pretty good trait to have over here. I bet your goo dragon thinks you're an awesome trainer, even if you're not doing much actual training.

I hope so! He's a dragon like me, so it's fun to be around him. ... Even if he's not an Endless, too. I think.

[Uhhhhh...]

Dragon...? An Endless dragon? I'm not sure I follow.

[Sure, her ears were a little smaller, her nose stuck out more, and she was, you know, alive, but she was still pretty close to how she'd been before. Ryu looked...pretty normal, for someone saying he was a giant lizard.]

[The newest breeder in town is here! Her mission: to breed Pokémon with some real style. She's doing her best to care for her first eggs, though she hasn't resorted to donning a mascot suit and sitting on them just yet.]

Shh, baby Pokémon, it's all right...
You're gonna hatch and shine real bright...

[She can actually sing. She's even got her Jigglypuff out to help with the singing, though they seem to be having some trouble with harmonizing.]

No...no, Betty, it's like this. A little lower, we don't want the baby's ears popping yet.

[What's that, little Litleo? You see something shiny up that tree? Candace's newest Pokémon is on the prowl, scampering up the branches.]

No! You get down from there THIS INSTANT! You'll burn down that tree, and then? The whole forest! I dunno about you, but I don't trust the fire department in the slightest---how're they gonna get the truck over that giant cliff?

[Litleo does not come down. He...doesn't seem to be able to get down. In fact, he's whimpering rather pathetically.]

Oh no you don't. I am not coming up there after you! You got yourself into this, you can get yourself out.

[An hour later...yup. There's a shivering Candace clinging to a tree-branch like a monkey, Litleo still perched above her. Isn't it great that she's afraid of heights?]

Now look what you did! Ugh...when we get down there you're getting a time-out, mister!

[... That is Candace.

And she is stuck in a tree.

Well this day has become rather interesting.

Perry just... stares at Candace from a distance for a good minute or so in shock, confusing his Pokemon a little in the process. Then, rather hesitantly, Perry walks towards the tree Candace is in and clears his throat. Well he couldn't just leave her there.]

[Hey, look. It's some...kind of business guy. His hat's vaguely familiar for some reason. Candace finally manages to scramble up and reach Litleo out of some dumb luck, desperately tucking the tiny one under her arm.]

And what're you looking at? You think I just love sweating it out in trees all day?

...oh wait, no I don't. So if you've got anything that can throw me a vine down there, that'd be PERFECT.

[Her sense of self-preservation is stronger than her embarrassment, but...seriously, who is this dude? His color scheme could use some work.]

[Why does no one like the outfit he arrived in?

Well, none of his Pokemon have vines, but Perry was still pretty fit in his new body so he could probably go up and get both of them down pretty easily.

Unfortunately he hasn't really gotten talking down yet so he's just going to just climb up the tree she's in to get to Candace.]

[Whoa, hey. Weird guy's climbing up to them pretty quick. Are they saved? Candace manages to coax Litleo into curling around her neck, though he's totally gonna ruin her hair.]

Hey, you're pretty good. Are you from the fire department?

...wait a second, are we in trouble? He wasn't gonna burn the forest, honest! He can barely even make a light, he's still just a baby.

[Candace the fire department don't have the ability to actually arrest people.

Perry just shakes his head before offering his hand. Look nothing bad is going to happen to you.]

[Now that he's close and she can have a better look...man, she still can't shake that weird sense of familiarity. Like someone's rescued her just like this before.]

I'm trusting you, mister. I don't care if I get hurt, but I won't let anything hurt the little one! The very naughty little one.

[She flexes her feet, tries to balance on a branch below her with one hand braced against the trunk, and uses her free hand to grasp her rescuer's. Litleo's still snug around her neck, thankfully.]

Well, I'm not transformed right now. ... I mean... I can't transform here for some reason, but I'm sure that I'll be able to soon!

[She raises an eyebrow, just watching him a few moments, then sighs and looks down at her feet.]

Yeah, buddy, I...don't know about that. I don't really get your whole deal? But I can't really see myself magically being what I was and doing what I could do one day. We might just, like. Be done. This might be us, now.

[amnesiadragon]

... I can't be. I still have things I have to do at home...

[... Now he's sad. He looks down and tries not to start sniffling. He still has to find Fou-Lu...]

[Ohhh man, oh WHOOPS, you know dealing with little baby Hazel and all her own siblings probably should have prepared her more for Suddenly Sad Feelings.]

I mean, it could also be like, fuck me, right? I don't have to be right! Not like I know everything. [Except she was dead, super duper dead, and Hazel wasn't around, she had to be mega dead.] Uh, like what do you gotta do? Do you remember what you were doing before you got here?

Y... yeah. I was trying to find both Fou-Lu and Nina's sister. It all got really complicated... but I still need to do both of those things.

[Perry grabs onto Candace and, after a moments hesitation hops out of the tree.

He sets Candace down and then examines how she's doing now.]

[sobusted]

[Meep. She shudders, Litleo's claws digging into her shoulders, and that just leads to her latching onto her savior. She's a bit reluctant to let go of Mr. Short, Strong, and Silent, but...ground! Solid ground! When she's caught her breath, she kneels and grabs a handful of the grass. Litleo rolls about in it like the little scamp he is, and Candace rubs his ear and cuddles him before she remembers.]

Aah, I'm so glad we're safe---but you're not getting out of time out, mister!

[She brandishes the Poké Ball, and he responds by curling around the stranger's leg.]

Hey, get back here! You're not using our hero to get out of this, buddy---

[She abruptly switches to addressing her rescuer as she's trying to pry her Pokémon off his leg]

So sorry, he's not usually like this...no clue what's gotten into him today! I bet this isn't what you expected, huh? Save our lives, get all this trouble.

[She looks up at Perry with a nervous laugh.]

Yeesh. Alright, so that sounds pretty bad, but it also wasn't like... Anything super bad right before you woke up here, right?

[There's no good way to ask corporeal people if they might possibly also have become super dead and didn't realize it, okay.]

Your buddies, though. Are they also this...Endless dragon thing?

[amnesiadragon]

Um... sort of... but Nina calmed me down from it.

[The question makes him smile slightly.]

Nina and her sister are from the Wing Clan. Fou-Lu's an Endless too, since he's the other half of me.

[Alright, seeing as he doesn't really seem to be considering that possibility and people usually knew that kind of thing... Izabel relaxes, going back to her own easy smile.

...Of course, he still doesn't really make sense, but that's okay. She hangs out with a toddler.]

Other half, huh? Hard to be apart from those for too long. [No matter which of the three ways she can come up with to explain that he means.] I knew some Wings, before I came here. They not all great, obviously, but my boss is pretty cool!

Wings? So you know people from Wyndia too?

[Is she actually from his world? He brightens up a bit, grinning even more.]
