We're not setting ourselves up as anything. That's the magnificently subtle rebel group's job, remember?

Look, you don't get into this business without figuring out real fast that you're putting a target on yourself when you pick up that badge. We know that. We live with that. Every once in a while, one of us gets plugged full of lead with that.

But we're not law enforcement with no law around to enforce, and given that half the people in this damn place are aliens and princesses and humanized ponies, I wouldn't expect half of them to even know what the letters FBI stand for anyway. Are we gonna do what we can to try to keep people from getting hurt? You bet we are. But thankfully, none of us are stupid enough to put out a call to arms and throw our gauntlet in the face of anybody who might want a piece of us in return.

Well, that's great. I'm not even being facetious; I really respect anyone who can know that they're putting themselves in danger but still do it anyway for the greater good.

That being said... there are four of you. I know that you can't die here, but if one of you gets completely incapacitated, that's 25% of your manpower gone. What happens if someone takes out one or two of you? Do you just keep soldiering on like nothing happened?

Five of us. I'm not about to count out an agent of the NIS — NISC, NISCOM, NCIS, whatever they're calling themselves now — no matter how new she is.

We've had one guy completely incapacitated before, and with worse odds than the ones you're talking. He invoked the mighty spirits of Tibet and muscled through it. Besides, we may be the ones with badges, but that doesn't mean it's us against the empire. You don't think Cooper's managed to make a thousand friends who'd move heaven and earth if somebody so much as laid a finger on him?

We don't know what's going to happen. You don't ever know what's going to happen in this business. We do the best we can and we watch each other's backs. If one of us goes down, we look at the situation we've got and we handle it as best we know how. I'm not about to speculate more than that — playing "what if" doesn't do anything but keep you up at night.
