CR / PLOTTING MEME

We all know how these work, right?

Here is your handy dandy copy pasta to fill in.

There you have it! Reply with that info then hit up new people, prod the CR you want more with, make plans for tournament antics outside of the battles, fish around for fourth wall ideas, or even just use it to find people on plurk or AIM! Make use of it as you will!

Well, finding out about the Great Chair Theft is pretty doable, considering the tantrum that followed was really public and it's basically the gift that keeps on giving, running-joke-wise: a ton of people know about it and the information comes up fairly frequently.

The trickier part will be tracing it to Carmen in particular, just because of the way she's played the scenario ever since. She doesn't deny that she was the one who did it and she's said or made allusions to doing it on the network before, but she's also fairly careful about making sure it can't just be linked right to her, out of a desire to keep her traveling group from ending up on the wrong end of someone's retaliation because of her.

...also there's a whole extra layer of hilarious complication now because Cobra thinks she's a male Spanish thief who goes by the name of El Zorua so y'know, shenanigans aplenty all around.

Basically, I don't mind him nosing around at all, and I'm happy to work with you if you want to have him get curious about the whole business, but he'll have to do some legwork at it and the way he goes about it will probably affect how she reacts to it. o/

Ash wouldn't exactly try to trace it to Carmen or anyone in particular, so to speak; since the people here come from so many worlds and the thief's identity would not endanger his family even if they showed up it wouldn't be his priority. The part that would truly interest him is a)whether that person still present in Johto and b)what else was there beyond that sweet, sweet chair*. Which is the kind of info that could (not so) easily be obtained from an anonymous person on the network or from the very male and dashing El Zorua if needed.

Besides, he knows damn well the advantages of anonymity and fake identities. This is a guy who didn't tell his family he was alive for thirteen years so they wouldn't get in trouble. He even got an haircut and a new paint job for his giant robot! So no rude prying about other people's names and stories, thank you. He'll be polite and businesslike and rather admiring, because wow pulling that off without the resources thieves generally have in their own worlds.

*His own is still totally better, though.

Oh, that works, then! I wasn't entirely sure what precisely you were looking for re: nosing, but that clears a lot up. I really would like to have her pull more heists for people to remark upon, but her development has sufficiently advanced such that it's a little trickier than just "I'm bored, let's go take something" these days.

But sure, I'm all for Ash doing some snooping, and she does have Zack monitoring the network for her, so if Ash were to put out an inquiry, for example, about the thief or the heist or whatever, there's a good chance she might turn up. Though he also might attract Cobra to scream at him about vengeance and snake thrones, but hey, such are the hazards of the job. Or if you had a different idea in mind, I'm all ears!

Getting them properly motivated is always the problem, isn't it? Goodness knows Ash won't do any heavy pirating until he sees Team Rocket's actions for himself, and even then he will Ponder How To Protect In This World first. Though heists would get his attention no matter what, thankfully. (...And so would Cobra's screaming, for that matter. His dad is very good at screaming about vengeance, too.)
