Thank you, Carmen. He will sneak you all the cherries for changing topics.] I can control fear. I mean, I'm used to being scared of things. Working in the BAU, you deal with fear a lot. I know how to function with it.

Dealing with fear and functioning with fear aren't necessarily the same thing as mastering it. And besides, the fear of something you face in the circumstances around you is a little different than facing something about yourself.

Well, yes, I agree. But personally, I'm happy just being able to function with fear. I don't think I could master it entirely. [Because that's his idea of mastering it--knowing it so well that you don't seem to even feel it anymore, like Hotch or Emily or Morgan. Then again, while he'd never realize it himself, he's developed an impressive ability to grit his teeth and trudge through fear over the last few years. There was once a time when overwhelming fear could make him cry; now he just hits it in the face with a pipe.]
