We've had plenty of memes about our characters in the past, so why not something a little different? After all, Pokémon is a huge part of what makes Route so special.

Arty the Furret

Arty is... Well. Picture the unholy lovechild of a wolverine and Grumpy Cat. She's grouchy, made of pointy ends, and bites to show affection. Although her species is known for being adorable, the only time Arty makes any effort to look endearing is in front of someone who has food that she wants, and even that act goes out the window once they catch onto the cloud of bitchiness that hides behind those big Furret eyes. Despite being one of the oldest (at least in the sense of being the first wild Pokemon Heather ever caught), she couldn't be further from being the 'mama' of the team. She's more like the bitchy aunt who says mean things at family gatherings (but who you know would always have your back if some outside the family tried to pick on you).

Background: Part of Arty's bitterness may have to do with the rather unorthodox way she joined Heather's team. Being one of the many wild Pokemon sent swarming by an unfortunate Sweet Scent accident on Route 29, the wild Sentret who would one day come to be Arty was not even remotely expecting to have a human being chase her down and personally wrestle her into a Pokeball, which is literally what happened because Heather had just arrived in Johto and hadn't bothered to read up on the REAL way you were supposed to catch Pokemon.
To add insult to injury, Arty's nickname was borne of Heather's passive-aggressive attempts to show her displeasure with the whole kidnapped-into-another-world situation by coming up with terminally uncreative names. 'Raccoon Thing' became R.T. became Arty.
Arty is pretty much like the oldest child who had to suffer through all the awful parenting mistakes that first-time moms make. Needless to say, Heather is a much better trainer now than she was when she caught Arty.

Current Relationship: Despite her terminal grumpiness, Arty isn't a total jerk. She IS rather lazy and spends most of her time lounging around near heaters (or campfires) and patches of sunlight, or sending sour looks at whoever happened to breathe wrong in her presence-- BUT she does show occasional affection to anyone who's been friends with Heather long enough, and does look out for her team-mates, even if it's in the form of scratching the shit out of them when she catches them doing something dangerous or annoying.
Heather, for her part, constantly teases Arty on account of finding her grouchiness hilarious, but is tolerated. After all, she's only a stupid human and Arty knows that nobody's perfect.

Noticeable Traits: Aside from the permanently-angry expression, none.

Plots and Ideas: In the past, Arty has served the purpose of giving anyone attempting to steal Heather's stuff an extremely unpleasant surprise. In the past, this has also been completely hilarious (as far as I'm aware, Miguel, Tulio, and Envy are still scared of her). Arty is not likely to get along with strangers very well, but if anyone would like their character to be on the receiving end of the worlds biggest, angriest fur scarf's wrath, feel free to let me know and we can figure something out!
