The All-Purpose PokéMeme!

THE ALL PURPOSE POKéMEME

We've had plenty of memes about our characters in the past, so why not something a little different? After all, Pokémon is a huge part of what makes Route so special.

Feel free to use this meme to:

- Talk about your characters' teams!
- Plot for Pokémon CR
- Discuss any headcanon you have about certain species or Pokémon in general
- Discuss ideas for Pokémon related shenanigans
- Take suggestions if you're struggling with a Pokémon's personality, what Pokémon to get your character, or anything else!

The sky's the limit, folks, so have at it!
foolishwren: RIP to henry townshend but im differen (if i saw a ghost i would simply bust it)

Alessa the Absol

Cautious, mistrustful, pessimistic, and just slightly paranoid, Alessa is a Pokemon who doesn't predict catastrophic disasters so much as personal ones that might happen. Whether they're likely to or not.

Background: Heather received Alessa's egg as a mystery Christmas gift, and was a liiiiiiiiittle freaked out by just how appropriate the choice was. There was no real trauma or poor treatment in the Absol's background to justify her extreme pessimism, but given her species' unfortunate reputation, perhaps it's not surprising that she's so mistrustful of strangers. Her name was given, obviously, for Heather's past self-- another misunderstood soul who meant well but wasn't, uh. Received well.

Current Relationship: Although most Pokemon are fairly protective of their trainers (and Heather's are no exception), Alessa takes it to another level. Almost venomously hostile (although not usually physically aggressive) to anyone she deems fishy (such individuals can range from actual sleazes to merely friendly strangers), she lives by the philosophy of 'Expect the worse, that way you'll never be disappointed' when it comes to her trainer's protection. Heather is somewhat aware of this, and frequently travels with Alessa at her side rather than Cujo when she's in a bad part of town or anywhere else that has an ominous atmosphere. Because... yeah. Although Cujo's size might be more intimidating, chances are the more-serious (and more-intelligent) Absol is a more accurate indicator of threats than the perpetually-goofy Growlithe.
Alessa is on good terms with most of Heather's other Pokemon (barring Godzilla, who she still hasn't forgiven for the biting incident, and Wren, who she thinks is an irresponsible trouble-maker), particularly Carousel the Rapidash and Cheryl the Eevee, who frequently seem to take efforts to make her be more cheerful.
This has resulted in her mellowing out some, although she's still suspicious of anyone she doesn't really know. She's also used to being blown off by Heather, but ... well. God forbid said suspicions wind up being proven right at any point. She won't be happy.

Noticeable Traits: None in particular, although she has a more foxlike appearance than some other Absols seem to.

Plots and Ideas: A paranoid Pokemon that happens to be DEFINED by its ability to predict disasters is pretty much a recipe for trouble when it comes to meeting new people. Chances of her actively getting in the way of budding friendships are high and potentially hilarious, given that Heather doesn't really pay much attention to her 'warnings' at this point regarding most new acquaintances. Especially if she has to resort to increasingly ridiculous stunts to try and 'catch' people being the dastardly villains she's sure they are half the time. Let me know if you're interested in plotting with her!
