I have a very...vague recollection of someone mentioning they'd like for Light to train their character and can't remember if that was you or someone else, but Light would be more than willing to train Riku in hand-to-hand if you want him to learn that. Also swordwork, if you'd like...as well as they can do in this crazy world.

I think that was me, actually! And Riku is more than happy to work on his hand-to-hand as well as swordplay. The latter's where his comfort lies, but sometimes it's too risky to cart around a big, metal key.
