A Wild Headcanon Meme Appears!

✭ A HEADCANON/QUESTIONS MEME ✭
Because there's never a wrong time for headcanon.

→ Post with a list of your characters.
→ Comment to other people asking them questions about their lineup. Ask anything you can think of: questions about personal headcanon, thoughts on your CR, hypothetical situations, off-screen interactions, future plans, serious business, random crack, whatever!
→ Respond to the questions you receive!
→ LEARN NEW THINGS ABOUT OTHER PEOPLE'S CHARACTERS THAT YOU NEVER KNEW BEFORE.
→ Discover things your characters have in common and forge excellent CR and shenanigans accordingly.
→ Repeat steps 2-5 forever.
Holy Voltorbs.

Fitting question given his canon here: If Kayneth could actually have that one wish that the Grail is supposed to provide (sans horrible death mud) what would it be?
enjoymyatelier: smug smug smug. (smuggity smug smug smug)

He actually didn't go into the war with a wish in mind, because I don't think he felt like he wanted anything more than what he already had aside from the extra glory that would come from participating in the war. He kind of just... wanted to add the war to his resume so I think his plan was to just stick the Holy Grail on his mantlepiece so he could brag about it at parties or something... If he absolutely had to wish for something, it would probably be something kind of minor.

Like cake, maybe.

Kayneth you are not a magical girl. Stop it.

Although Madoka and Zero would cross over distressingly well...
enjoymyatelier: actually, it totally will. (aha! a plan that will not end in failure)

being master is suffering...

Hahaha, yeah, it's honestly pretty funny that Urobuchi did two shows back to back that had pretty much the same thing going on. I mean, Fate/Zero was written first, but hahaha I still want to see a crossover, that shit would be awesome

It would certainly make that "Ilya becomes a magical girl" spinoff a lot more terrifying.

So I'm guessing his position hasn't changed since he came to Route, has it? On the wish thing, I mean.
enjoymyatelier: just once. (so if i win...)

[personal profile] enjoymyatelier 2013-05-30 10:29 pm (UTC)(link)
Hahahaha it sure would...

And yeah, it hasn't. Now if he could get a hold of Jirachi or something, he'd probably use it to bypass the Spear Pillar trio and set things in order according to how he wants things to go for the Holy Grail War, but he doesn't have an actual wish for the Grail itself. I guess it would also depend on how much he'd have to confront the fact that Sola's situation has really fucked her up... he might just... give it to her because he is a sad puppy

Okay, so! Wrong journal to be asking civil questions, but we ignore that for now -

How old was he when he created Volu...Volum...Mercury-tan? Was there anything in particular that made him decide to do that, or was it just a moment of CHRIST YOU KNOW THE PROPERTIES OF THIS SHIT MIGHT BE USEFUL or was it pure twelve-year-old cool or what?
enjoymyatelier: well damn kayneth sure is enjoying that mercury stabbing things. (UNLIMITED MERCURY WORKS)

He was probably about nineteen or twenty when he created it, and it's part of what earned him the El-Melloi title; as a result, it's connected to the title rather than his actual crest, which is why Waver managed to inherit it after becoming Lord El-Melloi II. I think he intended to create something that could passively serve as both the perfect defense and offense just because, so it's really a little of column A and column B. He was also pretty into dueling other students at the time so he did it purely to see how effective it would be, but it ended up working so well that he ended up even more bored than before he started...
