[And over here, ladies and gentlemen, we have one extremely distressed young woman crouched over a Starly, with a backpack on one side of her and a rather chagrined looking Wigglytuff on the other. The Starly crumpled into a heap at her feet is noticeably battered, with several bruises covering its tiny body - looks like a certain giant pink bunny rabbit got just a tiny bit overzealous while trying to protect its new trainer. What Maizono is supposed to do about this, she's not entirely sure; she was already freaked out about waking up in a strange place, especially when she so distinctly remembered bleeding to death in Naegi-kun's bathroom, so it would be an understatement to say that she isn't feeling emotionally equipped to handle an injured animal right now. Still, she can't just leave it. What if it dies?
The Starly flutters its wings and chirps weakly. Trembling and pale and overwhelmed by everything that's transpired within the hour since she arrived here (where ever here is), Maizono takes a deep breath and forces herself to calm down, her jaw tightening. Okay. Okay. She's got this. Everything's fine.]
Don't worry, little one. It'll be okay. I'll help you. Just - just give me one second...
[Her voice is as firm and as steady as it possibly can be under the circumstances, and as she offers this bit of reassurance to the Starly, she twists around and wrenches her bag open. There should be some kind of first aid kit in here, right? After all, there's got to be some reason why this thing is so heavy...
As Maizono begins searching through the contents of her bag, her Wigglytuff, Ippi, stands at her shoulder and regards the Starly uncertainly, seeming caught between feeling guilty and feeling a little indignant. Sheesh, trainer, you sure have a way of thanking him for saving you from that thing. Who cares if it was only looking at you funny?]
[If you were to ask Kirigiri to name the classmates occupying the top three slots on her top secret "Murderschool Shit List" Sayaka Maizono would assuredly be among them — third only to the mastermind and Celestia Ludenberg in that respect. The mastermind is a given, of course, so there's no competition whatsoever for that top spot. And Celes-san beats out Maizono largely for the fact that she consciously attempted to sell out her classmates through schemes and lies for the incentive of money.
But Maizono's decidedly up there, and she won that distinction by being first — first to crack, first to kill, first to prioritize her own life and her desperation for the world outside above that of someone else. She'd been dead before they'd all found out about the extent of the supplemental rules of graduation; maybe it would've changed her perspective on doing it if she'd known that the rest of them would have to die if she'd succeeded.
That was where Celes's sins outweighed hers. But to have done what she did (and more importantly, to have used Naegi-kun's feelings for her as a means of setting him up as a scapegoat)...it's something that sits wrong with Kirigiri, and it's not something she's going to easily let go anytime soon.
And maybe that shows as she approaches Maizono with her Houndour in tow — bold, no-nonsense strides that take her right up to Maizono with little fanfare — and it's then that she sees the whole picture: the injured bird, the looming pink rabbit, and Maizono in fits.
[As preoccupied with what she's doing as she is, Maizono hadn't exactly been watching for anyone approaching her - and even if she had been, she certainly wouldn't have expected any of those people to be Kyouko Kirigiri. So needless to say, it comes as little surprise that when Maizono hears someone say her name and lifts her head up to see Kirigiri standing over her (flanked by some sort of scary-looking dog, no less), her immediate response is to gasp and jerk away in shock. The movement is sudden and violent, so much so that it actually sends her toppling onto her backside, and as her arms flail outward so that she can catch herself, one of them knocks her bag over, tipping its contents onto the ground with a loud clatter.]
Oh - !
[Shoot-- now her things are all over the place! The palms and heels of her hands sting, too - that definitely was not the most graceful thing she'd ever done in her life. More importantly, though, what on earth is Kirigiri doing here? Too taken aback by the sudden appearance of her classmate to wince from the pain in her hands or even speak at first, Maizono merely stares up at the other girl, her eyes wide and her mouth gaping open. As she sits there, feeling bewildered and, quite frankly, a little stupid (because seriously, that fall really wasn't very graceful), several questions rush to the forefront of her mind: Why are you here? What is this place? What happened to the school?
These questions would have to wait until a little later, because just when the tightness in her throat loosens up enough for her to speak, the bird begins to struggle and chirp again, as if it belatedly realized that, what the fuck, there's all this ruckus happening around it and it can't move and with its luck, this is a sign that that giant pink rabbit is going to finish what he started by eating it, or something awful like that. Fortunately for the bird, Ippi stays right where he is; Maizono, however, does not. In fact, the second she hears the Starly making pained little noises, she begins pushing herself back up onto her feet, reaching back to dust off the back of her skirt. Once she's standing, her eyes dart around, going from the bird to the bag to the supplies scattered across the ground. How is she supposed to find anything to help the bird in this mess?
Finally, Maizono looks at Kirigiri, her gaze pleading. She knows Kirigiri is probably upset with her for what she did - or at least, she certainly wouldn't be surprised if she was - but as long as she's here, Maizono figures she might as well try to ask her for assistance. It's worth a shot, right?]
Nonononononono. Nope. This...this can't be happening. Not so soon.
The hotdog he had just been eagerly munching on slips from his numb fingers, but Leon barely pays attention to his lost lunch. His focus right now is one a certain blue-haired girl scrambling through the standard backpack given to each new entrant to the Pokemon world.
His brain may have ceased to function, but his emotions have not. Without even thinking, Leon finds himself marching right up to her. With every step he finds himself going back to that fateful night when he lost everything, and he knows that there's only one person to blame for that.
He's almost in a blind rage as he advances onto her. It's right when he's almost within grabbing range that he notices the Starly, twitching feebly on the ground. And that's enough to stop him cold, because those bruises...they look terrible. It's almost as if the poor bird had been battered to death. With lots of hits. Lots of, lots of...baseballs, actually.
And Maizono, she, she...is she looking for something to help the bird?
He's still mad. Still so angry, still so hurt and betrayed. But Leon has his good side, and that's what's prompting him to pull out the Potion in his own knapsack and shove it her way. He can't trust himself to speak, so he locks his jaw tight. And his glare is far from friendly. But the gesture remains, if not friendly, at least not hostile.]

Maizono in fits is never a good thing.]
