[A few tables away someone has sat down, dropping their bag on the ground next to their chair. At their feet is a Zigzagoon, who is staring up expectantly at his trainer, hoping some sort of food will be "accidentally" dropped for him to pick up.

This someone has their 'Gear out and is frantically tapping away at it, appearing to be sending someone a text. ...Or at least trying, becoming increasingly nervous as the texts go unanswered. Gosh dangit Zip where'd you go.]

[York looks down at the new message to start typing... then looks up at the small commotion. Prrrrrrobably a coincidence, but. Who knows? He'll get to that in a moment.]

What is Master known as? I don't know anybody by that name.

["Chihiro Fujisaki". Japanese, probably female... young? And matching the description of the trainer with the Zigzagoon a few tables away. Hmm... he'll try calling over.]

Excuse me, miss, are you Chihiro? I think I found your Porygon. [Said while waving his PokeGear nonchalantly.]

[...He really should have expected as much, but all the same hearing his name suddenly called causes him to jump slightly, nearly fumbling the 'Gear in his hands.

Quickly he stands and makes his way over to York's table, the Zigzagoon following behind as he lifts his 'Gear and puts it on the table, dipping his head slightly to York in the same movement.]

I...I am, yes. ..I'm s-so sorry...

...

Zip, come out.

[There's a short pause and a low hum before a burst of light issues from York's 'Gear, materializing for an instance as a Porygon hovering between them. Then, he disappears inside Chihiro's 'Gear, prompting him to pick it back up before Zip decides to try to sneak back into the other device.]

I've....been trying to teach him n-not to...do that...

[Emily flaps back as Zip pops out unexpectedly, the little Natu a flurry of feathers before she composes herself once more. That was rude, Zip. Sheesh.

York, however, seems much less perturbed by the whole thing. More amused, really.]

That's the best you can hope for, then. At least he's not malicious, though maybe you should teach him that not everybody intrinsically understands binary.

[Either Zip is under the impression everyone understands binary- or SHOULD be able to- or this is his desperate attempt to get Chihiro to actually talk to other people beyond his circle of classmates. Zip, being his Porygon-mom is not necessary, he promises.]

O-of course....that's....my fault, anyway. I communicate to him through binary code, sometimes...

[It's one thing to be able to stretch your coding-muscles, but entirely another to actually have someone who can understand and hold a conversation using strictly numbers.]

[Well... that's not something you hear every day. Not even the techies in DC are that into their coding.]

Really? Then I guess he learned it from his trainer. And you must be pretty tech-oriented to be able to communicate like that. Color me impressed.

[Meanwhile, Emily is confuse. Where did that Porygon go? Sorry, Chihiro, but she's going to hop up to your Gear and start pecking at it. Hellooooo?]

[When Emily pecks at the 'Gear a low humming issues from it, the screen flashing brighter and dimming a bit. More text appears but it's not Zip's doing, it's thanks to Emily's pecking. That doesn't seem to stop Zip from trying to respond, though.

Meanwhile Chihiro nervously folds his hands in front of him after reaching up to brush a lock of his hair behind his ear.]

T..thank you. I, um....I work with computer programming a lot.

[Emily's pecking is mostly at random, and just produces gibberish. A typist, she's not.

York quietly grabs the little bird, gently placing her back by the tiny coffee cup.]

I'll invest in typing lessons for you some day. Don't mind Emily, she's fairly curious about everything.

So, you were a programmer before you came here? Must be a pretty far cry from home, then.

[Chihiro just shakes his head a little, watching Emily as she sits by her tiny little coffee cup. That's....different, but he'd be lying if he said it wasn't cute.]

Oh, it's ok...

I was, yes. It's...not so bad here, though. With Pokemon so closely linked with technology like Porygon and Rotom.... there's still a lot for me to learn about.

[Not only is Emily hopping around her cup, but she's also dunking her head in and taking little sips. Is this safe for Pokemon? Who knows.]

I see what you're getting at. I'm more interested in the Psychic-types, being an investigator and all.

[Pokemon are surprisingly resilient, at least. Maybe if she's careful she won't have to worry about getting any burns on her face from the coffee. Maybe it's just a matter of seeing what your Pokemon likes. For instance, Chihiro's Zigzagoon loves Pecha Berries. Then again, those are kinda for Pokemon anyway...]

I see... I've been trying to learn about all the different types, since I'm a breeder here as well...

[Whatever the case, it seems that the Natu is enjoying it, giving little happy chirps after some of the sips.]

Really? I wouldn't have pegged you as a Breeder. But to each, their own. I guess I'm pigeonholed into "Trainer" because there isn't really any sort of government investigative body around here for me to sign up with.

... I don't think we've been properly introduced. [He reaches into his suit pocket, procuring an FBI badge and flashing it a little too close to Chihiro's face.]

[Chihiro blinks, leaning back slightly but otherwise staying where he is.]

Ah....it's nice to meet you, York. ...My name is Chihiro Fujisaki. ...You can call me Chihiro, though.

[Chihiro or Fujisaki, really. Different people seemed more apt to call him Chihiro, while others- mostly his classmates- called him Fujisaki.]

[The badge goes back into his pocket, and he leans back into the chair like nothing happened.]

Chihiro, then. Nice to meet you, too. I take it you were whisked away here from Japan? [Judging by the clothing choice and the name, mostly.]
