[Well, sure looks like she's got a long way to go before she can even dream of becoming a Pokemon Master. If such title is even possible here. Utau is not even trying to hide her amused smirk. Then again, she's been in that situation too...]

Haha, very funny. [Then she turns her attention back to her Sneasel.] She's been ignoring me all day!

[And it's a well-known fact that Nico does not like being ignored.]

And calling her an idiot is definitely not going to help with that.

[She does seem to at least consider Utau's words, but she gives a short huff afterwards.]

Then what would you suggest? Since you seem to know so much about them.

[The challenging tone in her voice properly masks her curiosity. Nico's too proud to ask for help outright, so she'll just have to ask subtly.]

[She tries not to be too amused by the fact of how much her behavior reminds Utau of her own. Well, she might as well try to help her since she has a big collection of level 100s by now.]

I'd be friendly toward her, make her relax. [Among other ways, but she's not going to give you all the options just like that.] You might want to be friends with her, since you two could be stuck together here for years.

[The idea of actually being nice is jarring enough, but...hold on a minute.]

Yeah, years. [It still sounds crazy to herself too.] It's not that bad, once you get used to it.

[Maybe she should say 'if you get used to it' but hey, people always get used to it if they stay around long enough.]

How are you just supposed to get used to living with these...things?

[Seems like her Sneasel isn't so happy with that comment so it feints a swipe at her, causing the girl to yelp and stagger back a bit. She huffs slightly from the brief scare, placing her hands on her hips.]

I take it you've been here for years.

They're not things, even creatures is a better word since even locals use it a lot.

[Oh geez, being called a thing or it is just the worst, isn't it? Utau gives a tiny smile at the Sneasel. Arms still crossed, she looks at the other girl with a serious face.]

I've been here for a little over two years, but I've heard some people have been here a few years more than that. As for your first question, you get used to it, when it's the only option you get here. There's no way home, you might the only one from your world here, and if you decide to travel alone, they're your only company for days or weeks on the routes between the cities. That, and there are wild Pokemon attacking you two on the route, you probably don't want to fight them by yourself.

[Well, admittedly she wouldn't have gotten used to living or working with Pokemon so fast, if she hadn't woken up in Team Rocket HQ on her first day. ...And even then she really missed her magical girl powers a lot, but anyway.]

[The Sneasel seems to at least be pacified by Utau's smile, ceasing its hissing. Nico glances down at it before returning her gaze to Utau, pursing her lips slightly in a pout as she listens to what she's saying. Even though it's begrudgingly, she seems to be taking in all of the girl's advice. She supposes she could at least try and follow them, anyway.]

...So just be nice to it, then? That's all?

[Good girl! Most of it comes from experience too, Utau used to be horrible at some of her pokemon at first...]

Well, that's definitely not all, but it's a much better first step than the ones you've seem to have been trying to take so far.

Hmph. ...I'll keep it in mind, then.

[That's about as close to a "thank you" that Utau is going to get.]

[She would ask whose fault is it, then, but considering the other's been here for two years, she's sure there's no answer to it.]

So, what are we expected to do other than live here peacefully?

[Utau shrugs.] Most people travel around the two regions to see the world and beat the gym leaders, I guess. Or settle down to live in one of the cities for months, while their pokemon might start breeding with each other.

[nicocchi]

It's better than doing nothing, I guess.

I guess it is, because you can do whatever you want here.
