Princess Sofia | Sofia the First

[Celadon City was always a beautiful place for a trip, with bright colors wherever your eyes wander. Even with the unfamiliar hustle and bustle (the only times it ever got like this back home were when there was a festival of some kind in the village or when Amber sent the servants into a flurry) Sofia feels quite at home in the rainbow city. She can stop in front of a boutique and pick out outfits she's sure Amber would love or swing by the department store to watch others her age run about with toys that she'd bet one of her tiaras James wouldn't mind having.

And then there's the greenhouse -- smaller than her garden back home, of course, and much more public. But still nice and calming. Her Buneary hops through the flowers, earning a disapproving Gust from one of the butterfly pokemon up higher, while Sofia herself has a sketchbook propped up on her knees so she can try to paint an impatient Nidorina posing with a teacup.]

You look great, Nadine! Just a little bit more...

[Xion walks into the greenhouse to look at the flowers.

Then immediately walks back out when she sees someone else in there.

It takes her Seel dragging her back in by her skirt for her to calm down and remember that she does not have to be shy around other people. People are good, insists Thalassa with his claps of encouragement!

Xion still cuts an awkward image as she sidles up in Sofia's vicinity, trying to see what she's doing without outright staring over her shoulder. It looks like the other girl is drawing something, just like Namine did. She wonders vaguely if drawing is really that fun, it doesn't look so fun for the Nidorina...then she realizes that she's just standing there in total silence staring at this person she doesn't know. Creepy.]

Um...it looks good.

[Living in the castle with servants, Sofia's gotten pretty used to people hovering around her. Still, it doesn't take much for her to notice Xion -- the shy demeanor reminds her a lot of a friend from home, and she smiles while continuing to work. When Xion does finally speak, Sofia looks up with an even wider grin.]

Thank you! [The Nidorina huffs, earning a giggle.] Oh, but of course I couldn't do it without such a lovely model!

[Pacified for the time being, Nadine returns to her pose.]

Do you draw at all?

[faintwaves]

[All right, Xion, you got the initial greeting out of the way. Now remember that people can see your face for what it is and you're A Real Girl (tm) now.

Try not to mess this up.]

No...I know someone who does, but I'm not really...

[Creative in the slightest. There's some vague nagging at her saying "I can make charms out of seashells" but when has she ever done that? She hasn't, it's Kairi that has.]

[She might feel like she's messed up already, with how Sofia is staring at her with deep concern. After a few seconds, the girl offers up her paper and paints.]

Would you like to try? I don't mind!

...[Lord but is she terrible at this "being friendly" thing.

As if on cue, her Seel claps encouragingly and Xion reaches out a shaky hand to take the paper and paints.

After a moment, she fidgets awkwardly.]
