[Instead of coming all the way over, Teddie finds himself jumping back in amused shock. A talking giant dog would certainly be- Wait, what's that? Cubchoo bats at Teddie's head in an attempt to grab his attention and points to the person sitting on top of the Arcanine.

Well, so much for child-like amusement. Teddie rubs the back of his neck and lets out a hearty laugh.]

Whoopsie~ For a minute there, I thought I found a new kind of fuzzy person! Say, how the heck did you get yours so big?

Hmm?

[Chihiro pushes aside the fuzzy fur around Hogosha's neck so he can see who's talking to him.]

Oh...you mean Hogosha? Well, he's an Arcanine...so I gave him a fire stone so he could evolve.

[MAGICAL STONES? Why didn't this surprise person say so sooner? Teddie takes his Cubchoo and holds him up for this kid to see. Look? See? Look at his bear. It is a good bear.]

I'll take one bear stone, please!

[THIS IS HOW IT WORKS, RIGHT? He said please.]

A-ah...bear stone?

[Chihiro echoes, frowning a little when Teddie holds out his Cubchoo.]

I'm sorry, um....there isn't anything like a...bear stone...

Whatdya mean?

[He sets his Cubchoo down and frowns, clearly frustrated with this bit of news. One does not tell someone about magical stones and then tells them they can't join the magical stone club.]

But I thought they all got bigger! Don't be so stingy...

[Cubchoo even holds up his arms, like he's trying to stretch himself out. Yes, he'd like to be bigger too, thanks.]

[..Oh no that's cute. Chihiro smiles faintly and shakes his head.]

Oh Well...only certain Pokemon evolve with stones...a lot of them evolve naturally after some training, and others don't evolve at all.

Wait, really?! Oh... that's so grizzly... those poor Pokeymans...

[Yes, he does say "Pokeymans" just as seriously as one would say "Pokemon".]

How are they gonna achieve their dreams of being gigantic giants?

Well....just because they won't be gigantic doesn't mean they won't be strong.

[Chihiro pets the back of Hogosha's neck, who lets out a soft whine in agreement.]

Who said anything about getting stronger?! I'm talkin' reaching things on the top shelf! Oh, my heart goes out to 'em, that can't be a fun life at all...

[Cubchoo seems to agree as he begins to fake cry for an added effect. Now if only they had a dramatic spotlight...]

[WELL THAT....isn't what he was expecting at all, um. Hogosha tilts his head to the side a little, one ear flicking.]

Being...being smaller isn't so bad...you can't reach certain things, but....well, you can go places that taller people can't...right?

[Teddie takes the time to consider this and rubs his chin, Cubchoo is fast to copy him.]

Right, right, like under the sink! It's so genius, I'm surprised I didn't think of it...

[Cubchoo nods, apparently agreeing.]

So now the question bears asking, do we stay sink-size small, or aim for the top shelf?

[It really is a question for the ages, isn't it?]

Both would be very good sizes, I think.

But once you go big, the days of youth are over! There's no going back, sister. It's a terrible bearden when you get right down to it, no one should have that much power over their own life!

[A pause.]

Although I do like the idea of smashing boulders~

I suppose that's true...but...sometimes change is a good thing, I think.

But with Pokemon, they can always just choose to remain as they are, if they'd like.

That's true, I'm a pretty big fan of change.

[So who knows, maybe Cubchoo is, too.]

I never realized how hard this would be, it really makes you use your noodle.

I don't know much about Cubchoo...but perhaps he will just grow on his own. You won't have to think about it too much, unless for some reason he doesn't want to evolve.

[Cubchoo begins to stretch his arms out again. Yes, he'd like to grow, please. How dare you suggest otherwise.]

Okey-dokey, as long as it's not too hard. Not having to think about things is my favorite way how to do 'em.

[So by that logic, he should be a Pokemon master by the end of the week.]
