A fire horse, huh?
[If only Roy could see one of those. Jokes that make themselves for $200.]I'm guessing you've picked up a few pets, then? Can I see?
[No seriously, he's genuinely curious at that, and if Greed was being friendly enough...Well..]

[It isn't as though Pokemon are trained to fight humans. They wouldn't listen to him if it came to that, and it's possible some of them would refuse to fight a low enough level Pokemon, too.
It figures he would end up with a handful of fighting animals that don't actually enjoy fighting. He tugs a Pokeball off his belt just the same and presses the button on it, releasing the animal inside.
And yup, that sure is a fire horse.]
The flames won't hurt when he's not feeling threatened.
[And despite how on-edge Greed is, the Rapidash doesn't look the least bit worried.]

He knew enough about how to be around horses that he didn't want to make any sudden movements to startle it, but there was a lot of cooing and admiration and carefully approaching the animal and petting if there didn't seem to be any objection. Steering away from the flames though, obviously, because if the horse decided that it didn't like him...well..Field treatment of burns is a lot more difficult when you don't have the usual kind of medkits handy and aren't familiar with the local flora.
He sure is wishing he had sugarcubes or an apple or carrot or something handy, though.]
Does he have a name?
no subject
So fortunately, there isn't any danger of the flames suddenly getting dangerously hot or anything.]
It's Becker.
[Which is a rather odd name for a horse given that it's a surname.]
no subject
Becker, huh? Kind of has a nice ring to it.
[He figures that the horse was probably named after someone, but he doesn't bother to ask. Besides, fussing over the gorgeous firehorse was clearly a ton more important.
And hey, he couldn't talk about naming quality - if he had one of these, it would surely wind up being named Roy for obvious reasons. Even if the colonel wouldn't find it half as amusing as he does.]
So you ride, then?
no subject
Yeah, I thought so too.
[All of Greed's Pokemon were named after people. Nearly all of them dead, but that's a rather sad thing to admit.]
I used to ride a long, long time ago. Not so much anymore. I have another Pokemon I usually ride instead, though Becker is a perfectly good steed.
no subject
[Going to pet Becker's nose - horses generally like that, right?]
..Mind if I ask what you usually ride these days, then?
no subject
Oh, I normally ride Cedric. He's a Scolipede.
[Giant beetle, even. They apparently have a rotten temper normally, but Cedric is lazy as hell.]
no subject
Scolipede? Oh! Like a centipede, right?
[Hey, it's not his fault that that's what the name sounds like! (even if it is close to accurate in this case)]
