I've mentioned something similar to a few other people on this meme as well, but it really holds so true for you, Caddy — I am astounded in the best possible way that you're here playing Carter Blake from Heavy Rain, and by god he is holding his own like a jerkass protagonist in his own right. If I weren't canon-familiar, I would honestly have no idea that he wasn't the protagonist (or at least a main character, questionable alignment or not); you play him like the hero of his own story, surrounding characters be damned, and I really admire your willingness to play him to his fullest. He's grouchy and unpleasant and nuanced and flawed in the best possible ways, and you don't shy away from the thought of letting him be wrong; on the contrary, you embrace it wholeheartedly and are constantly pushing him to face his uglier side and grow from it.
He's fun to stalk, a delight to play with, and I think you do a magnificent job with him. Please stay forever, Caddy, I love Blake so much. ♥

The day I make somebody think Heavy Rain is the story of the heroic Lieutenant Blake and his battle against bureaucrats and assholes, my work is done.
The funny thing about Route is how the laid back, low-pressure setting gives him a lot more inner conflict and puts a lot more stress on his sense of self than, say, a horror game would, because it takes away his excuse: "Sure, what I do isn't pretty, but the world I deal with is a whole lot uglier." His fundamental belief is that the world needs people like him to keep turning. And then here's a world without people like him, and it's doing just fine. Does a lot to shine a light on the ugly stuff he has gotten so good at ignoring.
So I absolutely love that there is plenty of room in this game to explore things like that, like in the Nightmare Castle plot, which is one of my favorite things ever. I love how his weird sort-of-friendship has evolved with Carmen, and how Schuldig is twisting him around to trust him. I love their interactions cause it's so much damn fun to let him rely on his instincts and be totally manipulated.
And this goes for all of the mod team: it is fantastic how willing you are to let people play with the setting and do weird and crazy shit, and how much weird, crazy, and creative stuff you do yourselves. It's a great sandbox and you're not shy about sharing the toys.
So yeah! Thank you very much and yep probably here forever ♥

I've loved Blake's threads with Mimi, and his total failure at dealing with a cute, happy child. You're also a sweetheart OOC, and I'm really glad we've ended up in a game together.

Really though, I've never played Heavy Rain but I love the fuck out of Blake and Raikov's threads together. XD I just hope it isn't too much!

BUT YEAH Raikov making him all uncomfortable is hilarious, and h's progressed far enough that instead of kneejerk rage he can be kind of curious. You know, intellectually. Somebody being so open about that both gets on his nerves and makes him wonder.

GOOD. GOOD. Raikov likes placing that seed of doubt/curiousity. Just as keikaku.

He's just a total blast to play with and watch. :>

Seriously, I love Blake so much. I was already fond of him after watching an LP of Heavy Rain ages ago (because if there's anything I like, it's fictional jerks with anger problems), but playing with you has given me a whole new level of appreciation for him. You've done such a great job of rounding out his personality beyond what was shown in canon while still maintaining enough of his stubborn jackassery to keep him IC, and I love your willingness to make him grow and develop in-game. I also like that you're willing to let him stumble and screw up along the way; it's easy just to say "okay, this character's gonna go through some character development" and then just kind of have them go through that character development without putting them in any situations that might challenge them, but it's realistic for them to encounter setbacks and second-guess themselves, and I really appreciate the fact that you do that with Blake. I think that's a testament to just what a great writer you are, too - seriously, I am always really excited to get tags from you, and a large part of that has to do with how quality they always are.
Aside from that... well. I THINK I'VE TOLD YOU BEFORE HOW MUCH I LOVE THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN YUSUKE AND BLAKE. They are hilarious, and I love that they just sort of gradually went from being enemies to being in a weird tempestuous friendship-rivalry. (We still need to figure out some way to make the dad jokes an in-game thing, by the way. I JUST REALLY NEED THIS IN MY LIFE. Especially if it eventually culminates in a big stupid competition to see who can crack the lousiest joke.)
FINALLY, I just want you to know that I think you're really fun to talk to OOC, and that I always really enjoy our conversations together. TL;DR: YOU ARE RAD AS HELL, and I'm so glad I've had the chance to play with you. ♥

There's so much conflict to play with in how he wants to be the big hero everybody looks up to, but all his instincts are for being the lowest kind of bully. It's really interesting that he could have easily been a criminal or a thug himself, but he chose the cop career path instead. It tells you that as much as he likes power - and he really, really likes power - he also wants legitimacy and respect. So what he wants to have and what he wants to do (e.g. hit people a bunch for pissing him off) are constantly pulling at each other.
It's great to have a punk like Yusuke around, because at the same time as he annoys the shit out of him, he also feels responsible for keeping him in line, since nobody else is doing it.
Oh, there will be terrible dad jokes. Sooner or later. It is inevitable.
Also I love that they somehow became weird friends after one of their first interactions was Blake nearly punching him in the face.
You're really fun to talk to on Plurk too and long story short you rule.
