[ Honestly, this whole "being transported to other worlds" is just starting to get annoying. At the very least, he can see here. Regardless, it's a shock to the system-- well. It would be, if this were anyone but Jade Curtiss. The little creatures are certainly an odd sight, but Jade? He's seen stranger. And so he retains his usual unflappable behavior.

For now, he's standing outside the Game Corner, and he's studying it fairly carefully. ]

My, what a terribly suspicious place.

[It's just another regular day in Goldenrod City for Dist. He's decided to step outside the Rocket base to run an errand and get a breath of fresh air. Doing evil science down in the bowels of the base is nice and all, but it does get a little stifling at times. Accompanied by his Roserade who is just as bundled up as her trainer, he's holding an armful of groceries along with a fresh bouquet of roses and lilies to put in the office.

The very concept of a regular day goes right out the window when he hears that voice. He almost believes he's hearing things- simply the ghost of a voice he hasn't heard in nearly two years. The dreams have been especially frequent as of late, so he thinks maybe this is some sort of spillover. But he can't deny his doubts anymore once he instinctively turns toward the direction of the voice and actually sees him.

Strangely enough, his gut reaction is to just leave- to run away, as he is nowhere near ready to deal with this. But he can't do that, because everything he was holding has spilled all over the ground. It's as though all muscle function in his body has ceased for a few long moments. He can't move from the shock.]

Jade-

[Well this is a slippery slope, now he's addressed him too. When he comes to his senses, he curses to himself and actually does try to just leave before Jade can notice him, groceries all over the ground and all. His Roserade follows, highly confused and concerned about her trainer's reaction to this man. Is this the one he's been so frustrated about lately...?]

[ Oh, dear. That's a terribly familiar voice, one Jade can't seem to shake off no matter where he goes. Calmly, he turns to face him, and he makes a show of heaving a tortured sigh. He doesn't go unnoticed, because it's difficult to ignore that voice and its owner; Jade's first instinct is to leave. But he's not quite sure he could rid himself of the other man quite so easily. ]

Your tenacity is truly admirable.

[ He keeps his voice fairly light, but honestly? He can't quite convince himself that he's not troubled. Interesting. If Dist, of all people, is here, who else is? While he's somehow warmed up to the idea of Luke's being able to handle things, well...

What terrible fate will befall Auldrant in the event of the others' being here? It's something to chew on for a while--because Jade is terribly certain he'll be here for a while. This world seems hellbent on making his time here less than pleasant, after all. ]

[Still only a few paces away, Dist once again freezes in his tracks. No. Jade heard him, and worse, he actually addressed him back. This could have gone so differently- he could have run and bided his time until he was properly ready to face his childhood friend again. Perhaps he could have talked to Kato and devised a plan of attack together. However, it's not going to be that simple now. Then again, is it ever simple with these two?

Bitterly, he turns to face Jade, properly this time. Despite his bitterness, Jade might notice that there does seem to be something different about Dist. Whether it's by his appearance or simply his body language, he overall doesn't seem as sullen and stiff as he once did back in Auldrant. For Jade that may have been just recently, but for Dist...]

Is it? I suppose I would say I've had a few years to refine it.

[At this point, he doesn't really know if Jade actually remembers his last time in Johto. Not that it matters, because either way his mere presence has shaken Dist to his core. A lot of things happen in a grand total of two and a half years away from home.]

[ And Jade does notice. It's hard not to, really; Dist seems a wholly different person than what Jade is used to. For one, he's gotten rid of that ridiculous chair. Should he be a more sentimental man, he'd spout some nonsense about Dist being able to hold himself up, walk on his own two feet... but Jade is more interested in what Dist is saying. ]

A few years. I see.

[ It's not impossible, then, that they come from different universes. Exactly how many years has Dist been here, then? He doesn't really have to ask outright; Jade's sure with Dist's mouth the way it is, the information may as well make itself known fairly soon. Or at least eventually. ]

I suppose you've been here long enough to, ah, make a space for yourself, then.

[ Jade's tone carries its fair share of implications. He refrains from using terribly strong words like weasel. Honestly, he doesn't really look too impressed. Then again, when does he, especially when it comes to Dist? ]

[Now that the conversation is definitely underway and there's no real escape at this point, Dist moves back to his original position and begins to pick up those spilled groceries, though never taking his off Jade. His expression remains that of someone whose previously great day was horribly ruined. Which, depending on how you take it with Dist, could either be very on-par with his usual reaction to Jade or very unlike him at all.

In this case it's the latter. Jade is...well, Jade, and Jade's presence always stirs up both positive and negative emotions, but this time it's an overwhelming negative. He didn't want to see Jade, as weird as it sounds to him when he internally reminds himself that.

Still, there's no turning back now. He'll just roll with it and hope this doesn't turn into a trainwreck.]

More than long enough. Though it may sound absurd, I have been here for over two and a half years. Ah, roughly the equivalent of one and a quarter of Auldrant's years. It's complicated.

[He's kind of glaring in that "don't question me" sort of way. If Jade's managed to figure out the basics of this world by now (or if he remembers- Dist isn't totally sure of that yet), then he shouldn't have too much trouble accepting these facts.]

But...yes, I settled into this city quite some time ago.
