Yes-

[Snow.. really? Of course Serah would name one Snow.... she had named hers Vanille. She smiles at the Piplup, then let's out a soft disgruntled sigh as her Drifblim wraps its arms(?) around her.]

I know, Nora. I missed you, too.

[Nora looked happy about that. The Pokémon that shows up next is a cute little bat, whom one can presume is Anima. She chirps happily at Serah.]

You named your ghost Nora?

[ Light, that's a little... To Anima, she smiles and waves. ]

Hey there. You're taking good care of my sister, right?

Hope named her Nora.

[Oh, she should explain.]

Hope was a little psychic cat called an Espurr. He... could send his thoughts into my head, and he's the one who named her. I think he was thinking of NORA not our Hope's mother.

[Anima chirps again, and before Serah can say anything, lands on her shoulder and nuzzles Lightning's sister.]

A-Anima!

[failnought]

Hope named her-- Oh. [ That's actually really cute geez. Serah laughs a little and nudges Lightning. ]

I bet Hope would be embarrassed if he knew you named a kitty after him. Oh! [ She laughs, patting Anima gently. ] Friendly, aren't you?

[bylight]

[Light gives Serah a smile for that.]

One of the reasons I named him that. But he's with another trainer who has his sister.

[Anima lets out a happy cooing noise. Sinopa gets jealous and huffs, going back over to Lightning for pets. Lightning picks her up and holds her close.]

Sinopa here is a Vulpix. She's a fire type. Anima on your shoulder is a flying and a dragon type.

So you've been making friends, Lightning? I hope you have more friends than enemies.

[ Snow bats at Anima, more curious than anything. ]

They're adorable. And they fit you.

[bylight]

I have a few. [Three.] I traveled with two of them for a while.

[Anima chirps at Snow. Hi there!]

Do they?

[Lightning pats Vanille's head, and receives a happy bleat.]

Vanille here is an electric type. Nora is a ghost flying type. There's Sazh, too... he's around here somewhere.

[ She nods, listening. It's good Lightning's been able to bond with people here. ]

Yeah. They seem really strong.

[ The names amuse her, and she's not surprised one bit. They had all been through so much together. ]

What, no Fang yet?

[bylight]

I would hope so. I train them well.

[She puts Sinopa down and opens a bag. She pulls out a blue and white egg, cradling it with a sad smile on her face.]

This is a Dratini egg. A dragon type. This will be Fang.

[failnought]

[ So whatever happened to Lightning is related to the egg. Serah puts her hand on Lightning's arm. ]

Lightning?

[bylight]

[Lightning takes a moment before looking at Serah. She feels rather pathetic right now. This was her sister, though. The person she can tell anything to.]

.... I wish you'd been here earlier. You could have stopped me.

[failnought]

[ It seems improbable that Lightning made a mistake. But Serah gently squeezes her arm. ]

Stop you from what?

[bylight]

[She hugs the egg closer now.]

I figured something out at a bad time, and I scared someone close to me away.

[failnought]

[ Snow senses her distress and squeaks sadly. Serah wraps her arms around Lightning, making sure to mind the egg. ]

Lightning... I'm sorry. So you haven't spoken to them since?

[bylight]

No... I told her I wouldn't contact her... not unless she contacted me.

[She said this very quietly. The thing about finally expressing her feelings was how drained and pathetic she felt...]

[ It must have been bad for Lightning to sound so... dejected. Serah gently shoos Anima off her shoulder, sets Snow down, and very carefully takes the egg from Lightning's hands. That goes in the bag, safe and sound, and Snow makes sure to guard the bag.

She doesn't say anything. She just hugs her sister, tight and close. ]

[Anima lands beside Snow to help him guard the egg. Lightning just lets her sister do these things without a word.

It takes a lot of control not to start crying, hugging her sister just as tightly and hiding her face.]

[ Lightning doesn't have to hold back with her. But Serah also knows that it takes a lot for Lightning to be this affected by something. Her sister has always been so strong, so steady, that it actually... it rattles Serah, more than she'd ever admit. And she doesn't want to admit it--because Lightning needs her to be strong now. Now, more than ever. So Serah just holds her sister a little closer.

Lightning might notice she's humming a song. It's one that's always made Serah feel a little steadier. Maybe this time, it'll make Lightning feel a little stronger, too. ]

[bylight]

[Lightning had never felt this pathetic and needy. She was the one that Serah came to as she swallowed her own feelings, keeping them deeply inside. She was trying to stop that. Her happiness was something she was no longer trying to actively hold back. But this... it was too much. It made the happiness she wanted almost not worth it. Light had no idea someone could hurt so much from rejection. Is that how Serah felt so long ago? Or was this worse, since at least she knew she'd see Serah again?

She sighs softly as she hears the song. Serah's favorite song. The one filled with the wish of hope for the future. The song that helped her remember fond memories of Serah, and had hoped Snow could hear in his palace. It was making her feel better bit by bit. Serah always knew how to calm down Lightning's fear and pain, even if she didn't realize it.]

[ The sigh tugs at Serah's heart, and she hugs her sister tighter. If that's possible, anyway. It's like she's scared this is just a dream--a wonderful dream, yes, but still a dream, something as fleeting and hard to grasp as smoke--and she'll wake up at anytime. Serah doesn't think she can handle that, so she clings as tight as she can.

Of course, she's 99% sure this isn't a dream. But it doesn't stop her from holding on with all her strength. And Serah can find her voice long enough to tell her sister one thing. ]

Love you, Lightning.

[bylight]

[The tight hug is returned as Lightning is trying not to let this moment slip away. She had lost Serah too many times. She would never lose her again, come hell or high water. If they were to leave this place, she hopes, no, she prays that they would go together. Even if this place wasn't to be remembered, they needed to stay together, now more than ever.

Hearing those words does bring a smile to Light's lips. She nods as she takes a deep breath.]

Love you too, Serah.

[ She pulls away, just a little bit. Her arms remain around Lightning, because it's been too long since she's seen her sister for her to let go so soon. Three years. It's been three years since that day on Pulse's fields, and Serah hadn't even really gotten that much time with her sister. Not before Lightning had been torn away from her, so cruelly, and far too soon. ]

I didn't think I'd get to hear that for a long time.

[bylight]

[For her it had been so much longer. She couldn't even hold her sister the last time they spoke, having had no time for catching up. The world needed to be saved, time needed to be saved... Five hundred years later, and the chance to be with her sister again was almost a possibility. Even though the circumstances were different, Lightning was glad her prayers had come true. She had the most important person in her life back again.]

Neither did I... I'm not letting you go anywhere without me this time. Even if Snow shows up.

[failnought]

[ Serah can't help but laugh at that. While she's sure Lightning isn't feeling one hundred percent better, that she's making a joke--and at Snow's expense--is a good sign. And the Piplup perks up at the sound of his name, flapping his wings. ]

What, even though you gave us your blessing?

[bylight]

[Lightning chuckles softly, looking down at the Piplup before turning her attention back to Serah.]

Even when you get married, it doesn't make you any less of a sister to me. He can have you to himself at night.
