[Given her stillness, Emil didn't expect to be coming upon anyone until she starts talking again. It makes him hesitate -- aside from a small few, he hadn't been around people for a long time, and for good reason. He considers leaving again, sticking around closer to the edge of town until there was less traffic, but the mention of "magic" gets him to pause. The crackle of flames and the smell of smoke is what gets him to jolt forward and make his presence known. His blindfold is secure.]
