Plotting!
TRAINER TIPS:
→ This is for general, game-wide or location-wide plots, larger-scale player plots, and general plotting ideas. This is not a CR meme.
→ The idea of this post is to help generate discussion, inspire, or plot out overall plots, as well as bounce ideas off of your fellow players and moderators. We will also be letting everyone know the overall ideas of what we'll have coming up, and you can give us input on those as well!
→ Please play nice while discussing things! Remember, it's okay to disagree, but be polite!
Upcoming Mod Plots

Anyway.
Music Plot - A swarm of Whismur/Loudred/Exploud take over the Goldenrod Radio Tower! Along with some techno-babble and other musically-talented Pokemon, this strange phenomenon causes whoever has their radio on to burst into song. It can be from their own canon, something their voice actor did, or just making them do Sexyback for the hell of it.
Hades and Persephone Plot - It's sunny, so why is it snowing? There's a mix of hailstones as a harsh wind blows! Why is it so hot when the rain is freezing cold? A Pokemon Professor finally deciphers the answer - there's a powerful Castform wandering over Johto, looking for it's kidnapped friend, a missing Lilligant! Trainers will have to search high and low for Lilligant... and they'll find that the kidnapper was a Houndoom, who just wanted to play with her :( reunite the friends to restore the weather to normal!
I Am Who? Plot - Some of Team Rocket's sillier scientists think they have stumbled upon their greatest scheme! With a combination of Jigglypuff's hypnotic singing and Spinda's swirls, everyone who tunes into their Pokemon gears will go into a trance! But the results aren't quite what they expected... instead of submitting to TR's will, everyone's personality has been switched to the last person they talked to! For example, Minnie Mouse has become a stern and formidable woman of battle, while Lightning is now a girly romantic princess! It'll take some time to wear off, but some shenanigans are bound to ensue.
I'm probably forgetting some, but if you want 'em, have at 'em, edit 'em, do what you want, I was bored and wanted to type.

Also musical plot would be FANTASTIC FOR DISNEY/KH FOLKS!

Hahaha yeah I mostly want that to be taken up because nothing would make me happier than Minnie doing a whole choreographed THAT'S HOW YOU KNOW routine and then people on the gear go AW MINNIE THIS WEIRD EVEN GOT YOU TOO and she would reply WHAT WEIRD EVENT, THIS IS A TUESDAY FOR ME

A personality mix-up plot sounds good too...

Buuuuut on the music plot idea, in my personal experience mileage varies greatly with those as I've seen them done in almost every game I've been in and I find it leads to a lot of posts without any replies... If that was ever to be an event I'd suggest it be a really short one like only two days at most. THIS IS JUST FROM MY OBSERVATION OVER THE YEARS THOUGH. I find those types of events are best short and sweet otherwise they'll get dull fast as posts with people just posting lyrics can be kind of hard to reply to.

I think they'd be so much fun!

(...yes, this is probably like maybe two of you, but uh.)
To make a long story short, Rose is going to be enlisting the assistance of one of the swarming Munna in order to dive into Ryner's dreams and try to find out if her dear partner's been hiding things from her. ...Without informing Jehra of her intentions ahead of time, so he will, in response, chase said Munna around the general area until he catches it, causing it to spread the effect around.
The effect? Dream Smoke. Anyone who inhales enough of it falls asleep and is unable to be woken up until it wears off (generally after several hours). It affects both player characters and Pokémon, though non-Pokémon take a Pokémon form in the Dream World. (Alternate personalities/beings who are sealed by Arceus can come play too, as long as they take Pokémon form as well.) It has to be a Pokémon that the character would actually know of the existence of, of course - so no Meloettas or the like, though if, say, they saw Lugia back a year or so ago, that qualifies. Whether each character is aware that they aren't supposed to be a Pokémon or completely oblivious, as well as how lucid they are in general and how much they remember afterward, is up to the player. Basically, a big huge shared dream sandbox, though it should generally be a dream that the character would naturally dream.
I'm mostly going to be doing a solo thing between Ryner, Rose, and the other things in Ryner's head, but if anyone in the area wants to play too, I'll put up a log for the shared dream! Any takers? Or questions?

Tournaments, tournaments, and more tournaments
Saber would be glad to support any and all of them!Good 'ol fightan tournament
Just as the name suggests. A good fashioned fighting tournament with brackets for beginners, intermediate, and advance.
Advanced players can 'cheat' and sign up in the beginners bracket for more shenanigans too!I'm not sure what would be a good time or if there's any interest in this, so I just wanted to toss the idea out there.Juusting tournament
Saber has been working with a couple of others for makeshift lances to teach people how to joust, but I think it'd be fun if we could have a competition. Categories could be sorted by experience + Pokemon size (so no one on a Dragonite vs a Ponyta).
Pokemon tournament
There's plenty of people with nice teams that might eager to test out their skills against other characters with good teams. Probably tiered in various Pokemon levels, so no one would a full 100 team would fight a newish trainer.
Cooking tournament
... This is a perfectly valid excuse to have a bunch of cooks face off.

Training Center, anyone?
Overview + Proposed Services:
Essentially, it'd be a place where trainers can go head-to-head with each other for the purpose of improving their skills. Think of it as an unofficial gym in a sense, where visitors can battle against highly trained Pokémon for heightened experience. The services would cost a couple thousand P for a weekly pass, allowing trainers to come and go as they please.
There'd be three main difficulty levels. For beginners, the center's Pokémon would go relatively easy on visitors, acting more like punching bags than a serious threat. This wold be the default level, since part of the center's goalwill be to aid trainers in leveling up their teams.
Under moderate difficulty, the Pokémon would fight back, but will refrain from using their most powerful moves, since they're all at level 100 and pretty dangerous. This is only recommended for Pokémon level fifty and above.
Finally, under All Out difficulty, the Pokémon wouldl use all their powerful moves and nasty strategies to give trainers a serious challenge. This is only recommended for high level Pokémon (75+) or those seeking a real challenge.
Other services will probably include a workout room for trainers to strengthen their Pokémon's skills outside of battle, possibly an obstacle course of some kind if Riku can get the funding for it (and some assistance setting it up).
Beyond that, there will also be private training offered, where trainers can drop off their Pokémon to stay at the center and work with the Pokémon there. This will be a bit more expensive because it requires food and board for the guest Pokémon. The center will not fully max out a Pokémon because that is the trainer's responsibility. To prevent abuse, I can see a cap being set at like... a month, tops.
Lastly, Riku will be offering up Pokémon for 'rent'. The purpose of this is to allow trainers to have a competent Pokémon to train off of even if they're on the move. However, these Pokémon will not cooperate if anyone tries to use them in gyms. The limit will be a week for P10000 and each day overtime will cost an extra P5000. If anyone tried to 'steal' them, they're not opposed to attacking thieves and are extremely skilled at evasive tactics.

How You Can Help:
Obviously, a business like this needs more than one guy on the job. While Riku can definitely supply a decent amount of level 100 Pokémon (he's got 22), he'll be needing staff, people to help set up shop, additional trainers/Pokémon, and... well, interest.
Also, if anyone has suggestions for locations, I'd be happy to hear them. I'm probably gonna aim for somewhere in Kanto just so people have a reason to go out there and because Riku's spent so much time in Johto that it kinda bores him. If that doesn't work, though, I can always shoot for Olivine.
