sob maybe someday I should just find a way to expose Hayate to the utter batshit that is some of the stuff they pull in Tenipuri. I mean granted a lot of the true wtfery takes place in the series sequel and not the part of canon that Yagyuu's actually experienced yet but I mean it's also a series where we canonically have a guy with MIRROR EYES and people hitting ten tennis balls at the same time and a guy who plays a match with a racket in his teeth because he broke both his wrists trying to return a power shot and DEATH EAGLES and a thirteen-year-old getting crucified against a fence with tennis, so.

I mean there is a LOT of batshit that Yagyuu just kind of takes for granted so maybe it would be worth trying something with that.

I like the violin idea, too, though! Classical music in general might be something they could bond over; I'll definitely give it some thought and see if I can come up with some other ideas after I've had some sleep, too. o/
