Sion probably isn't likely to take it in a very serious direction for now, at least. A large part of the reason he invited Saber was just to get the chance to get to know her better; their previous conversations really did indicate they had a lot in common, and Sion did talk about some things in vague terms with her already, but he's very slow to open up to people and tends to be cautious in general, so he wanted to get a better feel for things. (If it weren't for his need to talk a little bit to someone, though- in canon he does have at least one person he can vent his doubts at when he needs to, even if Lucile's style of being encouraging is rather.... odd- he probably never would have opened up as much as he has in the first place....)

So yeah, basically I imagine it probably stayed in more casual territory, maybe straying no deeper than some inquiry about each others' worlds/homelands, that sort of thing.

....oh, and he undoubtedly asked where the whole "Saber" thing comes from, since he heard Shirou keep referring to her as that. ^_^;;

Does Loki hope to see anyone he knows show up in Johto? (like Thor, Volstagg, Leah, etc...) What would he do if they did?

Poor Kayneth. Will he ever be canon-updated to that, anyway? :|a

I'll be honest I'm just waiting to see the look on Kayneth's face when he finds out about Ryner's magic skill and abilities. XD

OH GEEZE TL;DR AHEAD I'll answer the second question in a separate reply

IT'S BEEN INTERESTING. Envy seems to have been the only homunculus (besides Greed) in the 2003 anime that didn't really want to become human. He disdained them, is very attached to his superpowers, and in the series one of his main personal goals is to outlast humanity, not become part of it. Not to mention, he's been a homunculus for almost four hundred years and didn't get hungry, tired, cold, sick, and all his injuries healed instantly. He had next to no actual survival skills when he showed up and was a huge baby about everything, and if it wasn't for some helpful people he probably would have died whited out in the woods before he got to Violet like an idiot.

So needless to say, he was very unhappy with being human when he showed up. He didn't want to adapt at all, he just wanted to be a homunculus again. But since that wasn't an option, he started having to adapt anyway. One thing he did concede to doing early on was to start training so that he wouldn't feel so weak.

By now, Envy and his Route-humanity are pretty much on permanent 'It's Complicated' status. His attitude about it has improved a lot, and he's much more able to deal with hunger/cold//hurt/etc. He's actually acquainted/good friends with with a fair number of humans now, and has been learning how to humanity from them. He still misses his powers a hell of a lot, especially his power to transform because it was as natural as breathing for him to change looks whenever he wanted and now he's stuck in the one body, even if it is his favorite. He will also take any opportunity to simulate the experience of, say, being able to jump super high or run super fast. He's good about eating when he needs to, but sleeping is a different story. He was able to sleep as a homunculus, but preferred not to for a variety of reasons that included terrible nightmares. He still gets insomnia, and if he's having nightmares frequently he's got the bad habit of just deciding not to sleep for days at a time until he finally collapses in some weird place.

The big thing about being human that makes it so complicated to him even as he gets used to it is the idea of having a soul and emotions. It's my headcanon, and heavily implied canon, that Dante was either bullshitting or mistaken about homunculi not having souls/emotions. But the thing is that Envy believed it completely, and he was incredibly set in his view of What a Homunculus Is. Then he gets to Johto, and all of a sudden he has to face up to the emotions that he can't deny having because he's human and therefore must have a soul to feel them with. He was able to write it off as just part of being human and of course he can feel stuff that he couldn't before, but then he got canon-updated and kept his memories of Johto while he was home. Since he'd started allowing himself to be feeling emotions, he could recognize them, and they didn't go away just because he was a homunculus again. This threw a lot of his worldview into question (in addition to what he was already questioning on account of making human friends), and now he's not really sure what he is. His old definition of a homunculus as something entirely seperate from humanity doesn't fit anymore, but he's still resistant to the idea of considering himself as fully human even in Johto. Being a homunculus is such a huge part of his personal identity that he's been getting all kinds of lost and turned around about it. tl;dr emotions are giving him an identity crisis.

That said, he's also getting steadily more used to having emotions and has been accepting them more easily as time goes on. At some point he's going to have to face up to this looming identity thing, but for now he's happy to keep ignoring it like he does his other problems.

I think the two options he'd like best would be pole vaulting and gymnastics. Pole vaulting because it involves running and jumping and he likes doing that. Gymnastics because wow Envy sure loves flipping around like an acrobat and showing off, two things that gymnastics make possible!

Team sports are...probably a no. Because Envy doesn't play well in large groups and is also a terrible cheater. And as much fun as it would be in some sports to tackle the other players, they'd be able to tackle him back and he's got a pretty small build.

I'd have to say his CR with Gorthan and Agnus. I say both of them because they're working together on a project. I just find it fascinating how well they manage to work despite being perpetual loners outside of Route. Of course, it's no secret that Dist grates on them as he usually does to anyone, but the fact that they put up with him is a miracle.

Gorthan and Dist's CR in particular is really interesting to me, because in their very first meeting Gorthan pushed Dist out of every boundary he had put up around himself. Gorthan sympathized with Dist. Naturally Dist didn't react well to it and he often argues with Gorthan about their differing viewpoints, but there was a seed planted that first meeting. Dist has this feeling that he can talk to Gorthan about things that he originally wanted to keep to himself forever, but how long it'll take for him to actually admit to his faults and do so is unknown.

Envy and France met waaay back during Johto's first fall festival. He hadn't been there very long, maybe a month or less, and had already started traveling and conning with Miguel and Tulio. The three of them had set up a scam booth at the festival, and it was Envy's job to go around and lure gullible-looking people back to it. One of the people he approached was France, but France figured out that this was a scam pretty quick and so Envy changed the subject so there wouldn't be a fuss about it, and then they just hit it off and wound up having this long conversation. Both of them let on during this that they weren't human, which was still a big deal to Envy at that point, and so Envy didn't really feel the need to hide his identity and was much more inclined to like France.

Then a few days later they had another conversation where France flirted with him and Envy decided hey why not, this guy's okay,and flirted back. This quickly led to makeouts and they decided that friends with benefits sounded like a great idea. As this went on, France was super friendly and complimentary and affectionate and once came to visit Envy in the hospital, and just so much positive attention that Envy wound up getting very attached and developed a bit of an actual crush on him (although he wasn't really aware of what it was at the time because what are feelings). And since he liked France so much, he returned the positive attention a lot more than he was doing with anyone else. Then Valentine's Day rolled around, and by this point both of them were definitely emotionally invested so they decided to start actually dating.

It didn't take France very long to love Envy, but it did take Envy forever to figure out that yes he was in love with France back and then actually say it. He knew he was attached, and he knew there were a lot of feelings involved, he just had no idea what they were or how to deal with having them. FORTUNATELY FRANCE WAS VERY PATIENT.

I intend to canon update him to, uh, post-episode 16. That will be a very, very long time from now, though, given that I have to do a looot to set it up so he doesn't become unplayable or something.

Hahahaha yeeep.

Set up like "make Kayneth actually make FRIENDS" you mean? ;p I totally know what you mean though, yeah.

Clearly this can only lead to amazing things. :)
enjoymyatelier: actually, it totally will. (aha! a plan that will not end in failure)

Hahaha, yeah, that's pretty much it. Granted, he hasn't been doing too badly in that area yet, but he also hasn't had too many reasons to be a gigantic douchebag to them...

Yes, it can.

YOU CAN DO IT KAYNETH!!! though yes he should find someone with a high tolerance for douche. XD

I swear Sion will suggest that they actually have a proper discussion in person later at SOME point soon in their thread. ^_^;;

Depends on her mood and the type of bad the book is. Sometimes a book can be mesmerizingly bad, so much so that she's entertained by the sheer ridiculousness of it. But if it's bad in a way that just offends or irritates her, it's going straight back down and she's moving on to something that she'll actually enjoy.

That said, even the worst books she usually tries to give a fair shake to. After all, some stories really don't pick up until the first quarter or so is past.
enjoymyatelier: you're being too preemptive, bro... (how about a toast to my victory)

...I was going to make a comment here about someone winning Kayneth with THE POWER OF FRIENDSHIP, and then I remembered one of the ponies replied to his last post, so. :Db

It'll have to wait until Sion's done with his badge-gathering thing, but, well, give him a week or so and he'll have that wrapped up nicely....

DISCOVER A WHOLE NEW KIND OF MAGIC YOU NEVER KNEW EXISTED :D

Yeah Kiritsugu showing up would literally be the worst.

...so of course I think it would be pretty fun if it happened.
