CUTOFF FOR ADDING CHARACTER WANT ADS TO THE GDOC IS:
7:00 PM, EST, ON SATURDAY, MARCH 29!
Francis York Morgan | Deadly Premonition
Next to him is a little sphere of a Natu, with what appears to be its own tiny cup of coffee. They appear to be sipping in something close to unison.]
Rocket's been quiet lately, Emily. I have a feeling that they're gearing up towards something.
[Emily peeps some sort of assent, hopping around on the table and swirling its drink with its beak, staring into the shifting depths. York is doing... most of that, but without the hopping and the beak, instead opting for just a spoon and a bit more cream.]
"Don't look a gift Ponyta in the mouth". Lucky number... 25. I see. Seems we should get a move on. Well, after we're done here.
Im so sorry
And the text seems to read as follows.]
ALL NUMBERS CAN BE
/LUCKY/
IF YOU WANT THEM TO BE
BUT THE NUMBERS
1 AND 0
ARE THE MOST LUCKY
BECAUSE BINARY IS SUPERIOR
[The only explanation I can give is someone's gotten rather curious and has detached from their trainer's 'Gear to infiltrate someone else's. So sorry about that, York.]
I KNOW YOU'RE NOT
I don't think you can, in binary, consider 1 and 0 to be "lucky", more than they are "fundamental". Any number can be represented with 1's and 0's, right?
11001, for example.
SORRY NOT SORRY
THIS IS CORRECT
THAT /HOWEVER/ IS NOT CORRECT
BINARY
MALFORMED BINARY

THIS IS CORRECT!
11001
IS NOT CORRECT
YOU'RE NOT EVEN NOT SORRY
I was never good at numbers. Mind giving a translation?
HEHEHEH
But fine.]
I SAID
HELLO MY NAME IS
/ZIP/!
ZZZIP
LIKE A ZIPPED FILE
no subject
And here I thought my Gear security was Porygon-proof. Thanks for white-hatting me otherwise.
Nice to meet you, Zip. I am FBI Special Agent Francis York Morgan. Please, call me York. That's what everyone calls me. [Yes, he even types out his catchphrase.]
no subject
HI HELLO
USER FBI SPECIAL AGENT FRANCIS YORK MORGAN
YORK :)
[A few tables away someone has sat down, dropping their bag on the ground next to their chair. At their feet is a Zigzagoon, who is staring up expectantly at his trainer, hoping some sort of food will be "accidentally" dropped for him to pick up.
This someone has their 'Gear out and is frantically tapping away at it, appearing to be sending someone a text. ...Or at least trying, becoming increasingly nervous as the texts go unanswered. Gosh dangit Zip where'd you go.]
YOU SHOULD MEET
MASTER
MASTER IS GOOD WITH BINARY
WILL TEACH YORK HOW TO
/SPEAK/ BINARY :)
no subject
What is Master known as? I don't know anybody by that name.
[Conveniently sidestepping that second part.]
no subject
BUT
CALLING FUJISAKI /MASTER/ IS
STANDARD PROTOCOL
no subject
Excuse me, miss, are you Chihiro? I think I found your Porygon. [Said while waving his PokeGear nonchalantly.]
no subject
Quickly he stands and makes his way over to York's table, the Zigzagoon following behind as he lifts his 'Gear and puts it on the table, dipping his head slightly to York in the same movement.]
I...I am, yes. ..I'm s-so sorry...
...
Zip, come out.
[There's a short pause and a low hum before a burst of light issues from York's 'Gear, materializing for an instance as a Porygon hovering between them. Then, he disappears inside Chihiro's 'Gear, prompting him to pick it back up before Zip decides to try to sneak back into the other device.]
I've....been trying to teach him n-not to...do that...
no subject
York, however, seems much less perturbed by the whole thing. More amused, really.]
That's the best you can hope for, then. At least he's not malicious, though maybe you should teach him that not everybody intrinsically understands binary.
no subject
O-of course....that's....my fault, anyway. I communicate to him through binary code, sometimes...
[It's one thing to be able to stretch your coding-muscles, but entirely another to actually have someone who can understand and hold a conversation using strictly numbers.]
no subject
Really? Then I guess he learned it from his trainer. And you must be pretty tech-oriented to be able to communicate like that. Color me impressed.
[Meanwhile, Emily is confuse. Where did that Porygon go? Sorry, Chihiro, but she's going to hop up to your Gear and start pecking at it. Hellooooo?]
no subject
Meanwhile Chihiro nervously folds his hands in front of him after reaching up to brush a lock of his hair behind his ear.]
T..thank you. I, um....I work with computer programming a lot.
no subject
York quietly grabs the little bird, gently placing her back by the tiny coffee cup.]
I'll invest in typing lessons for you some day. Don't mind Emily, she's fairly curious about everything.
So, you were a programmer before you came here? Must be a pretty far cry from home, then.
no subject
Oh, it's ok...
I was, yes. It's...not so bad here, though. With Pokemon so closely linked with technology like Porygon and Rotom.... there's still a lot for me to learn about.
no subject
[Not only is Emily hopping around her cup, but she's also dunking her head in and taking little sips. Is this safe for Pokemon? Who knows.]
I see what you're getting at. I'm more interested in the Psychic-types, being an investigator and all.
no subject
I see... I've been trying to learn about all the different types, since I'm a breeder here as well...

complicated...
so don't mind her coming up to the table because... well, it's relevant...]
Yeah, I'd say it's been quiet... but too quiet? Who knows what they're up to?
no subject
I don't... which is the problem. Besides the regular poaching and movements of the grunts, there haven't been many reports of major operations. And I don't think Team Rocket is one to take a holiday.
no subject
[...of course no one would trust her with secret plans anyway but]
no subject
Just another concerned trainer, then? ["Or are you more involved", remaining unsaid.]
no subject
tiny birds are cute. she will stick her hand out for tiny bird to investigate!]
Well, I am aiming to be a hero, and anyone interested in taking down the baddest of the bad in the region is definitely hero material!
[...no, it's still more complicated than that]
