[She's more than willing to return the hug, hiding her face in Serah's hair. Lightning is hoping beyond hope this wasn't just another dream... but it felt real. It had to be real. She would make this real.

When Serah pulls away, Lightning nods.]

I never thought you'd show up here. You're- [Wait... what Serah just said.... was she from a different time? She suddenly can't help but look confused.] .... Serah... when was the last time you saw me?

[failnought]

The last time I saw you? It was after I woke up from my crystal sleep.

[ With a frown, she searches her sister's face. ]

Why? Are you okay, Lightning?

[This Serah... she doesn't know the pain that's going to face her, the heartaches, the last time she was alive... Lightning lets out a breathless noise that sounded like a sob. Her sister...

She touches Serah's face and her smile is back, but much more subdued. The relief on her face is very clear. Her sister, this Serah, was okay. Safe. Alive. She would keep it that way.]

I'm happy. I just spent so much time in Valhalla... it's skewed my sense of time. Didn't mean to worry you.

[failnought]

[ The sob gets her, and she hugs Lightning again. There's something more going on, and honestly, it scares Serah. Something bad must have happened, and she has no idea. But... she wants to know, even if there's a pit of dread in her stomach. ]

Lightning... it's more than that, isn't it?

[... Serah was always good at seeing through Lightning. She looks down, not sure what to tell her. She hesitates before nodding. She really doesn't want to tell you, Serah.]

Yeah... a lot more.

[ She wants to know more. But at the same time, she knows Lightning. Serah knows her better than anyone, and she knows when Lightning doesn't want to talk, she won't talk.

She sighs, but hugs her tight again. ]

When you're ready, tell me, okay?

[Those words and that hug, which she gladly returned, were what she needed. She nods and lets out a soft sigh.]

Thank you... but for now, I guess I should tell you all about this place.

[She looks down at Serah's Pokémon and takes out her Gear. She smiled at Serah and turned it to the Dex mode. It chattered away about Piplup's in detail.]

This thing tells you everything you want to know about your little friend. About all of them.

Yeah. I mean, that woman who called herself my mom didn't really explain much.

[ It's actually... very unsettling. Serah shakes her head nonetheless. ]

Wow. I'll have to take a look through it, then. So... how long have you been here, Lightning?

[bylight]

That woman is insane. Common consensus.

[She has to think for a moment.]

Two months now. I've kept myself busy. This place has a lot to do.

Does everyone meet her, then?

[ That sure is... well. Serah watches Lightning carefully. There's definitely something wrong. ]

Keeping yourself busy doing what? Not getting into trouble, right?

Yeah. From what I can tell.

[.... She lets out a sigh and puts a hand to her forehead.]

Short version? I made an enemy of an entire Organization, and enemy of a guy who thinks he's president.

[ Serah nods, and then... gives a sigh. Well, she can't say she's surprised. Still, Serah knows Lightning can handle herself. ]

They must be pretty bad, then. Don't they know they've made a mistake in making you an enemy?

They do now. I can't take them down like I'm used to. Everything revolves around Pokémon battles.

[Speaking of which... A large yellow and black Pokémon ambles over and tilts it head as it looks at Serah, letting out a confused bleat. This girl looks a lot like my trainer!]

Took you long enough to catch up, Vanille... where's Anima and Nora?

[Vanille looks behind her with another bleat. They were behind me!]

You mean we battle with these little guys?

[ She kneels down and gathers the Piplup in her arms. ]

Well, Snow, what do you think about that?

[ And the Piplup can't contain himself: He lets out a happy chirp. ]

Yes-

[Snow.. really? Of course Serah would name one Snow.... she had named hers Vanille. She smiles at the Piplup, then let's out a soft disgruntled sigh as her Drifblim wraps its arms(?) around her.]

I know, Nora. I missed you, too.

[Nora looked happy about that. The Pokémon that shows up next is a cute little bat, whom one can presume is Anima. She chirps happily at Serah.]

You named your ghost Nora?

[ Light, that's a little... To Anima, she smiles and waves. ]

Hey there. You're taking good care of my sister, right?

[bylight]

Hope named her Nora.

[Oh, she should explain.]

Hope was a little psychic cat called an Espurr. He... could send his thoughts into my head, and he's the one who named her. I think he was thinking of NORA not our Hope's mother.

[Anima chirps again, and before Serah can say anything, lands on her shoulder and nuzzles Lightning's sister.]

A-Anima!

[failnought]

Hope named her-- Oh. [ That's actually really cute geez. Serah laughs a little and nudges Lightning. ]

I bet Hope would be embarrassed if he knew you named a kitty after him. Oh! [ She laughs, patting Anima gently. ] Friendly, aren't you?

[bylight]

[Light gives Serah a smile for that.]

One of the reasons I named him that. But he's with another trainer who has his sister.

[Anima lets out a happy cooing noise. Sinopa gets jealous and huffs, going back over to Lightning for pets. Lightning picks her up and holds her close.]

Sinopa here is a Vulpix. She's a fire type. Anima on your shoulder is a flying and a dragon type.

So you've been making friends, Lightning? I hope you have more friends than enemies.

[ Snow bats at Anima, more curious than anything. ]

They're adorable. And they fit you.

[bylight]

I have a few. [Three.] I traveled with two of them for a while.

[Anima chirps at Snow. Hi there!]

Do they?

[Lightning pats Vanille's head, and receives a happy bleat.]

Vanille here is an electric type. Nora is a ghost flying type. There's Sazh, too... he's around here somewhere.

[failnought]

[ She nods, listening. It's good Lightning's been able to bond with people here. ]

Yeah. They seem really strong.

[ The names amuse her, and she's not surprised one bit. They had all been through so much together. ]

What, no Fang yet?

[bylight]

I would hope so. I train them well.

[She puts Sinopa down and opens a bag. She pulls out a blue and white egg, cradling it with a sad smile on her face.]

This is a Dratini egg. A dragon type. This will be Fang.

[failnought]

[ So whatever happened to Lightning is related to the egg. Serah puts her hand on Lightning's arm. ]

Lightning?

[bylight]

[Lightning takes a moment before looking at Serah. She feels rather pathetic right now. This was her sister, though. The person she can tell anything to.]

.... I wish you'd been here earlier. You could have stopped me.
