Lighthouse explosion?

Basically, Kato is tricking Luke into blowing up the lighthouse on the weekend of the 25th. Anyone seeking to participate should post over at Kato's post; there's also an IC post from Luke that characters can respond to.

OK SO GUYS

Kato here will be made of SMUGGGG once he accomplishes his shenanigans with Olivine Lighthouse, so I want to bring him down a few pegs.

Basically, he's got this troll of a Deino that's going to be a Hydreigon in a few weeks, and when it evolves to its final form it's basically going to crack the shits and smash up that pretty machine he spent so long building. Commence manpain.

What I'm wondering is if anyone in TR was keen to battle the Hydreigon when it goes on a rampage/yell at Kato for being an irresponsible dumbass! NOTHING LIKE DOING SOMETHING RIGHT AND THEN SCREWING THINGS UP AMIRITE

So basically, I would love to plot some TR stupid :3b

JOHTO RESEARCH TEAM

SO HEY when I was reading the CR meme I noticed that we have quite a few science-y types who are interested in investigating the setting and trying to figure out this place's weird mysteries! So, I think it would be a pretty neat idea if there could be some kind of IC organization to it. I know Team Rocket has the science division, but there are several non-Rocket characters like Kayneth and Twilight Sparkle who have been pretty diligent about looking into things, so I was thinking that something a little more neutral might be a fun thing to do.

What do you guys think? I could probably have Kayneth propose it ICly at some point, if you dudes think it's a good idea. I know there's a lot about Johto that isn't really intended to make sense to the characters and that some investigations will turn up jack shit, but hey, the characters don't know that, and that's half the fun!

I...don't know if I can promise that Albert would willingly get in on this sob he is so grumpy, but he's definitely going to be doing the science research thing with a particular focus on how Pokemon food/berries/byproducts affect humans when consumed — Paras mushrooms, sleep powder, Blissey eggs, the berry assortment, stuff like that. It might take some IC shenanigans to get him to grudgingly share his research and cooperate with an IC organization, but we could probably work it out somehow?

Sion and Ryner have actually been doing a fair bit of researching legends and legendary pokemon. Mostly it's just been a cursory overview so far, traveling all over Kanto and Johto under the premise of Sion going and challenging all the gyms, though Ryner's done some reasonable amount of research in Johto prior to Sion showing up, too. So they would probably have some interest in this, I imagine. |D

....oh, and Ryner in particular is a genius mage back in his world, incidentally. Which Kayneth may find relevant to his interests if he ever found out. :)

Well, Apollo's well on his way to knowing everything there is to know about the local flora and fauna. He likes watching how nature works and talking about it with people who are willing to hear about it, but I can't picture him actually joining a research team of any kind. Especially not one involving pretentiousness in human form. Granted I can see him at some point being convinced to make a big video post explaining Berries and edible plants for the new arrivals, so what do I know. I guess I'll just see what happens and if I can throw him at something.

Training Center: Opening Soon!

Well, after months of hard work and labor, Riku's Training Center is going to be opening very soon. I'm still trying to decide on an exact date, but hopefully before the month is over. It mostly depends on my school schedule.

Anyway, here are some of the attractions that'll be available. I plan on adding more depending on IC interest, but I figure this is a good place to start.

Now all he needs are employees. Right now, it's mostly Pokémon doing the work, and while they're certainly helpful, he's gonna need more than his team to pull the string. If anyone is interested, he'll probably be doing a network post asking for workers sometime soon.

Thoughts, questions, etc? I'm all ears.

Bad Movie Night

So, I'm hoping to get this up on the OOC comm shortly, but I might as well preview it here and get some more ideas.

Basically, Barney has decided that everyone needs a night off between all the crazy stuff happening. And after a conversation with Heather has decided that a night of bad movies and riffing them is just the way to do that. (As it seems Johto has an seemingly endless supply of terrible movies. In a so bad it's good way.)

What I have so far:
-It'll take place in whatever City Barney is in presently, and will have the option of having people be flown in.

-It'll basically be a big open log for people

-Barney would want it to be an 18+ event because of alcohol, not movie content. I figure I'd split it into two threads, one for a more kid-friendly no alcohol one that takes place earlier, and one for the adult side with alcohol which would take place after the kids leave.
However, posting in either is welcome, and I won't be policing too heavily. It'll be up to everyone's discretion and remember that IC actions will result in IC consequences.

-There will also be subthreads for movies containing a title and brief summery. Beyond that, everyone is welcome to figure out what the heck is happening in these movies.
Also if you have any ideas for movies please suggest them.

So I think I'm going to suggest The Room because seriously, what is a bad movie night without The Room?

As for suggestions, the only bad movies I can think of are Snakes Sevipers on a Plane and Dungeons and Dragons Dragonites, the Movie.

WANTED: BOUNTY HUNTERS

Okay, so. This isn't an impending plot by any means, but I still figured I'd put it out here to gauge possible interest in it, and better structure my plans from there.

So Albert, being the current contender for Worst Pokemon Trainer Ever™, is a pacifist who intends to catch exactly no Pokemon and will never battle them ever. That said, there are some Pokemon I'd like him to acquire eventually, which means I'm gonna have to get creative with hilarious shenanigans for how to put them on his roster. Which leads me to this thing:

POKEMON BOUNTY HUNTING

Want to make an easy twenty bucks? Go catch a Shuckle and send it to Albert. Trip over a Blissey on one of the routes? Ship it off to him and he'll drop some cash on you for it. Obviously I'm not aiming to overdo or abuse this by any means, but being that he's really not inclined to go out and commune with nature for 3+ weeks to acquire some of these things, I'm constantly on the lookout for different venues through which to achieve the ~true Pokemon experience~.

So basically, this is just sort of a preliminary "would anyone be interested in participating/taking advantage of something like this?" inquiry! o/

Can you offer a list of pokemon you're looking for? Luke might be traipsing around the Olivine/Cianwood area for a few weeks and it could potentially be a good kickoff to some DAMN KIDS, GET OFF MY LAWN cr.

If he phrases his requests in a bounty hunter like manner (or if the phrase bounty hunter is used) Vriska might be up for this! A chance to make a quick buck and hunt down some Pokebeasts!

It wouldn't be bounty hunting, but if he ever mentions wanting a Chansey on the network Cecil would be more than happy to breed him a Happiny and take care of the first evolution. (Amusing egg moves are included. Happiness needed to evolve into Blissey is not.)

FLARPing in Johto

So Vriska just recently asked the network if anyone wanted to FLARP with her. Which is basically Live Action RPing, in the Troll universe. There's the MSPA Wiki article on FLARP

Obviously a few elements are going to have to be changed around, but if people are interested I'd be willing to put together a monthly FLARP adventure log. It could probably even be something accomplished in different cities. Quests for certain things and all that.

Small plotting

I'm sort of looking for a way for Ren to get his final reason to leave Team Rocket. It's not like he wants to say in them as it is right now, but he needs a push (because he's damn lazy and won't do much anything until he's pushed to do it -- plus living in the base for free is rather convenient, don't you think).

Though there's also something I'd like him to do before he does get himself out of there. That is to ruin someone else's plans. So if there is a chance of him hearing about something being planned and he has a chance of ruining it, he would do this... especially if it's a plan he doesn't approve on (which is pretty easy because what in Team Rocket does he approve of). Of course he's not the master of being sneaky, so it' easy to figure it's him if you just look long enough -- plus his Zebstrika would most likely bring him in if needed -- so there's an easy to way to get fast revenge in need.

So if you're interested in helping with either of these, that would be appreciated.

I know we made plans for these two to pick up chicks together, but after the fiasco in Olivine, Luke might be on the run for two weeks. He's a bit of a sheep, so it might not get him all the way out of the organization, but he and Ren can discuss it?

Goldenrod Radio Tower Break-in

You know what happens when two thieves have too much spare time on their hands?

They break into the Goldenrod Radio Tower, of course! In a mod-approved manner.

Seeing as Crow and Kaito have had suspicions about Team Rocket's presence in the Radio Tower since forever or so ago, now that they're in Goldenrod they're going to check it out. They won't be finding the connection to the HQ, of course (they're not that lucky), mostly just mild evidence that will probably be of no use to anyone but them (and let's face it, who in their right mind would share their findings there with Johto police...?). Being professionals, they know what they're doing and won't be getting caught or recognized, though.

What does that mean for you? Well, on Friday night, during the break-in, the two will be making an anonymous post directly from there because... that's how they roll, mostly (but checking for reactions is a bonus, too).

So yes. Look forward to thieving shenanigans, ask questions here if got any, etc!

Unrelated to the plot as a whole, but I find this ridiculously hilarious considering they're going to be three days shy of the one-year anniversary of Yagyuu and Niou breaking into and hijacking the radio tower (the 17th vs. the 20th of August).

Suffice to say, Yagyuu might be a little nostalgic.

Okay, well, since those effected by the powers plot still have residual stuff going on, I was thinking...

What if Team Rocket did some kidnapping? Surely the science division would want to chart the effects and such, right? They could use psychic Pokemon to teleport people to whichever lab branch is closest.

The kidnapped would be gone for about a week or so and then unceremoniously dumped in whatever place is easily accessible, but doesn't give away the base?

Anyway, it was just a thought.
