Or maybe their original route lost its appeal. Have they started taking a freelance Professor route? Or maybe they're researching the history of either region. Have they resigned themselves to a life stuck in the Pokemon world or are they trying to find a way to get out?

Minato Namikaze | Naruto

Minato...

-is 37~ years old. the ninja kids are now about the same age he was when he arrived in Johto
-has already won every badge some time ago and has this awesome battle theme
-still a breeder, and still favors electric types. occasionally breeds monstrous murder zap rats and fairies. plusle and minun are pretty much always by his side, and his entire team is pumped full of every move possible to learn at this point. but he doesn't battle often, at least not seriously (always training!)
-most of his time has been spent helping out at Katara's Welcome Center, pitching in to train the Center's pokemon, teaching newcomers, making sure people are informed and taken care of. On the side he holds small classes on self-defense and hand-to-hand combat, mostly with children, but he never turns down a student as long as you don't nark to the jennys
-however for the past year/year and a half, he's been in Cianwood where the Uzumaki's have set up home base, near the Whirl Islands, because
-he's a father again to a little red haired girl named Nori, who is only a few months old now
-yes she's named after a ramen topping too
-yes he and kushina are both glad there wasn't a birthing cave involved this time
-yes she broke his hand during the delivery and both of them could be heard wailing from outside the hospital
-he didn't pass out though good husbando
-there have been several canon update comas across the years but now that his and Kushina's roles back home are finally finished they're happy to spend their "afterlife" here in Pokeland. never giving up on getting the others home, but for them this is pretty much it. and that's okay
-they did wait a long time before adding to the family though, traveling the regions, exploring, studying the lore. making sure they were really here for "good"
-he and Kushina were married again about a year after they arrived in Johto. til death do us part and well. death did they part. Naruto was his best man and they honeymooned in Blackthorn for the hot springs
-that they are probably still banned from, to this day
-but it's okay there's a hot tub in the Uzumaki compound
-which encompasses two other houses as well on either side of the main house, for the other ninjas and their friends to crash whenever they travel through the area
-they film pretty much every moment of both their kids lives. and post the majority of them to the network. MEMORIES. PRECIOUS MEMORIES
-this is getting kinda long huh
-he's pretty much the same just +1 infant and back into teaching. learning to be a parent again. meddling in his son's lovelife [GRANDBABIES]. taking it easy with his family after a pretty eventful ten years. breeding murder monsters. studying the legendaries in-between diaper changes and naps

- Ramza, now 26, would have fully embraced Johto in 10 years. Unlike many people, he never had any canon update comas - the last thing from home he remembers is that battle. He's flip-flopped on using the Beoulve name, but he eventually decided his name had no meaning, both to him and to this world. Though Ramza still worries a little about home sometimes, he's learned to push it away. There's nothing one man can do. Perhaps Delita was right to do what he did, perhaps he was wrong. (And, no, he never learns that he's alive. Unless somebody apps him.)
- He still travels whenever he can - he's gotten a passion for assisting people who've just arrived, or anybody who can prove he really came from another world - or just anybody in trouble. He just never saw the point in settling down - he's still a traveller by heart, he's still a clansperson. When he can't travel, though, because he's probably injured himself training again his Pokemon, he'll train you in Ivalice combat or Pokemon battles. Ramza is more then used to sparring against his Pokemon. He's stopped using the blades of a Skarmory or his Honedge, but he still battles with hands and rocks.
- By this point, he would have had fourth wall demon dreams, and would have studied legendaries quite extensivly - deep in his heart, he wants to bring his sis here still. Even if she's all grown up, he sort of wants to see Alma once more. (No. I'm not going to go over how horrible Ivalice would be without Ramza there if time passed. That would just break my heart.)
- He would have picked up the ability to snark from his pal Walter (and other pals no ramza wouldn't go all chaos though he would be less lawful) - and picked up technology, too! He's probably made a text history of Ivalice - in case he ever forgets his own home.
- His team for battles would be Dragonite, Eelektross, Honedge, Chandelure, Meinshao - and Stunfisk, of course! He never learns the mystery of the Zodiac Pokemon, and still believes that they're showing he is a warrior like the Zodiac Braves. Even if, every few fourth walls, they turn into demons.
- Since he got the badges early, Ramza hasn't really considered battling for them something worth it. Though he did prove his worth... I imagine, though, he tries to contact and befriend the gym leaders over these 10 years. I can imagine an odd friendship between him and Jasmine - and a certain EV News blowing it up into a big rumour.

Also yes he has grown his hair longer. Now he can't fit into his old clothes, he keeps them in a box, along with any items he's gotten from item grant events - I imagine he would have gotten items to remind him of home. He might have dated a little, but he wouldn't have settled down with anybody. He's just not sure yet. Even if he falls for somebody, what if they vanish... I'm sure Ramza has lost friends to vanishing before.

OH and even though he travels he totally has a house somewhere where his other pokemon live
he has a skarmory stable
and he will rent them out like chocobo
he probably even has a shiny one, and does make weapons for people who know how to request them

The Indomitable Miss Carmen Sandiego:

▶ Is currently 39.
▶ And is probably having a minor midlife crisis about it.
▶ Has stolen literally every building and landmark in Johto at least once.
▶ Has established a secret home base residence in most but not all of the major cities.
▶ Regularly hassles the PGC with her antics because they're the closest thing there is to an organized, competent team of detectives in Johto.
▶ Has actually probably pissed off a lot of the PGC because of it because it's not a game to them and they really do not have the patience for her shit.
▶ Staunchly supported Zack the Porygon2 in launching his budding DJ/Mixmaster career.
▶ ...And stole both the Goldenrod and Lavender Radio Towers (and their signals) so that everyone would have the pleasure of listening to his debut.
▶ Speaking of Zack, he and Julee the Chatot are still happily committed even though they are not from the same egg group and therefore their love tragedy lives on.
▶ He has also put his free time to good use making some really ridiculous advancements to the Gear and manipulating the network so things are likely a little more 1984 in Route now than most people would probably be comfortable with.
▶ Carmen also underwent a highly villainous phase in her early 30s on account of some really bad influences, and while it's not something she ever followed through on, it's also not something she's really proud of and has been working to put that behind her ever since.
▶ She is still fabulously single because Cooper's never coming back.
▶ But she also dates a shitload of people because it ended up occurring to her that she's never second-guessed herself for wanting things in any other area of her life, so why should she hesitate to go get what she wants in a romantic sense.
▶ She once took the time to fly over literally every square inch of land in Johto and Kanto just so that she could say she'd done it afterward.
▶ And in doing so, she happened to find the Rockets' lost Machine.
▶ Which she naturally took with her and now keeps hidden in one of her bases.
▶ Because while she's still perfectly content to be in Johto with the people she's spent more than ten years with now, every good thief knows you should always have an escape route handy and ready to be used on a moment's notice.

- 28 years old.
- Has embraced the modern world completely, learning to read fluently, adapting to technology, picking up on the local speech patterns. He partially lapses back into his native dialect when talking with close friends, but out in public it's hard to tell he was ever from a "medieval" society. He tossed his Samurai uniform years ago after it got messed up in a fire-related mishap, with only minimal hesitation.
- The first half of those 10 years was really turbulent because of memory comas through to the end of canon and a resultant mountain of personal issues. He spent a long, angry five years figuring out who he was and what he believed and what he was going to do with himself. He chilled out immensely after that and took the...let's call it the chaos high road, setting out to live freely without ruining everything in the process.
- Moral relativism is still the foundation of his life philosophy.
- He's a roaming Pokemon trainer now and forever. He lives for the eternal challenge, and to keep himself from getting complacent, he shrugs off his Pokemon on other people whenever his team gets too powerful to keep things interesting. He doesn't keep trophies and doesn't go after permanent titles, so he...well, he's pissed off a fair number of people in the badge and tournament circuits, let's say.
- When drunk, he talks about wanting to fight Legendary Pokemon someday. Whether that's a real dream he's pursuing or not is up for debate.
- He discovered early on that there's some pretty cool stuff in books, and he enjoys reading the things that catch his interest. His taste is....actually kind of surprising, because he has no trouble dealing with the prose in older literature; he likes deeply personal stories that explore human nature, and the more controversial the subject matter, the better. (He's kind of That One Jackass from high school who bragged about all the kurt vonnegut and dystopian novels he's read, in terms of taste, tbh, except for Walter it's a personal thing and he doesn't talk about it much.)
- Occasionally pops into Rocket-related conflicts to punch some grunts in the face (they remind him of the Ashura-kai, except more blatantly nefarious) but doesn't permanently ally himself with anyone.
- His single personal rule to live by is that he won't cede anything to anyone unless they take it from him by proving their superiority through combat. He still considers power to be the determining factor in a person's worth (though "power" has varying meanings, he's discovered.)
- He's dated a bunch of women, but nothing ever stuck because he can't not just get up some morning and start off across the region out of restlessness.
- ...The only Pokemon he's not willing to just get rid of are a small handful of Fire- and Fighting-types he's had since his first journey that he doesn't battle publicly but seems to be constantly training for...something.
- A terrible thrill-seeker who should probably fear death more than he does. He lives such that he won't regret not having done something if he bites it tomorrow.
- Still hates fish.
- The one bit of sentiment he allows himself is dropping in on friends whenever he's in the vicinity. He may be convinced that attachments hold you back, but...everyone has their vices, and he likes having friends and fellows.

- Sasuke will be 26 years old.
- He'll have obtained all 16 badges (or possibly more depending on regions) with this battle theme playing in battles against him.
- Will have gone through canon updates up to current events and have dealt with the consequences by this point.
- Is likely working with Riku's Training Center and also takes up battling as a profession, working in pokemon centers to nurse pokemon back to health on the side when pokemon battling isn't paying well.
- Is an accomplished taijutsu (martial arts) and weapons master out of being unable to train in any other areas.
- Has fully learned how to trust his friends.
- HAS LEARNED HOW TO GENUINELY SMILE AGAIN, HAPPY NOW SORA?
- Has learned how to control and express his emotions better in general, becoming much more even-tempered over the years.
- Researches the lore behind Legendary Pokemon in his spare time.
- Occasionally takes expeditions to at least find these Legendary Pokemon.
- Wanders the regions, with a home-base in Ecruteak City.
- Has gotten better about contacting his friends on a regular basis and helping complete strangers.
- Has grown out his hair and keeps it tied back in a very uh... voluminous ponytail. Considering his family's genetics for hair.
- Is possibly in a steady relationship? Who knows with him, but all things considered it is possible. Much to Neji's disdain.
- Still combats Team Rocket actively in the PGC to this day (and occasionally goes after Carmen Sandiego).

+ Ishimaru is now 30, and kind of wigged out by this knowledge; he's not bothered by it, though. It's a good kind of wigged out.
+ He's fallen into canon-update comas twice; he's experienced his portion of canon in its entirety.
+ He has all sixteen badges at this point; his battle theme is some unholy amalgamation of the MTB themes.
+ He's no longer a member of Team Rocket; he still wants to bring down the organization, but he hated what they made him do during his attempt at doing so from the inside. He eventually turned himself in and did his jail time in order to leave.
+ As such, his Darmanitan is no longer microchipped, and he gets on far better with it now.
+ He went through a period of time where he made a lot of Bad Life Choices, and he tried to make a lot of Bad Life Choices for everyone else; part of it was Team Rocket's influence, part of it was him being an arrogant prick, and even though it's been years and he didn't go Full Villain or anything, he's still trying to atone for it because wow did he fuck up for a while there.
+ His social skills have drastically improved! He was able to catch up with most people in his peer group eventually, though he still has trouble with nuances and saying what he means sometimes. Basically, if socializing was a language, he'd be fluent but he'd have an accent.
+ Since the 'foreigners' have been here for so long by now, he's been trying to institute changes that will allow them to have positions of power within society in Johto - basically granting them the ability to become Gym Leaders and Professors and other such things. Obviously, they'd have to pass the same sort of exams as the locals, but he'd basically be advocating for equal opportunities for those who have found themselves here for the duration.
+ Single forever and pretty happy with that, actually; he's tried dating a few times, but he hasn't really found anyone he can say he's in love with.
+ He requires glasses by this point, and he's grown his hair out a little to the point where it's not...spiky and/or military-short; he's actually pretty distinguished-looking by now.
+ Eyebrows are still a mess, though.
+ He's still not okay with everything that happened in Hope's Peak, but -
+ He's at a point where he can at least accept that he's never going to be okay with it. He's still healing from it, but he's come to terms with that probably being a lifelong process.

I imagine they probably did that thing where like everybody kind of knew that they were going to get married but then they went and surprised everybody by going through a period where they actually saw other people and stayed really good friends but pursued other romantic interests, and then eventually were just sort of like, "Yeah, and it was good for us to see other people and grow on our own to avoid any creepy codependency as a result of what happened to us in murderschool, and now we are our own people and that's great, and it's because we've grown as individuals that we can now figure out that when it comes right down to it, we really are just happiest being with each other so let's just do that."

AND THEN THEY GOT MARRIED.

✦ He'd live there, but it gets really cold during the winter so he'll just stick to flying there every so often.
✦ Mondo's team is finally more balanced, though he still has a lot of Dark-types.
✦ After trying to take down Team Rocket from within, Mondo was outed to the police and forced to spend time in jail.
✦ He didn't really mind that because it meant he was done with Team Rocket.
✦ Now he's a member of the PGC, offering them information about Team Rocket and trying to take down the organization from outside.
✦ Mondo's dated a bit but he's still absolutely horrible at it - he still yells when he gets nervous despite Alice's help.
✦ He's content being forever single though, and spends most of his time helping Ishimaru out. Or well, trying to help Ishimaru out and really just being a pain in the ass.
✦ Mondo still keeps in contact with his classmates (even Celes!) and has mostly come to terms with what happened in the school. He'll never be okay with it, but he can at least accept that it happened and move on.

- Has a large collection of Shuckle she's named the Big Dango Family.
- Has switched professions to Breeder.
- Keeps a diary of her adventures, along with horrible sketches of her pokémon.
- Visits each town/city at least once a year, and sends donations to the Breeding Centers.

- Has beaten a combination of the gyms to acquire the HMs & TMs she desires for breeding purposes.

And she's still breeding her pokes, though it's more they were like let's reproduce here Keiko have an egg batch than anything else. She still doesn't understand it and is researching Pokémon breeding/mating in her free time

- Has taken it upon herself to deal with Miss Sandiego, though she nearly always remains two steps behind. Sometimes it's only one step behind, though!

- Still single. Always single.

- Lights fireworks on the beach of Olivine every year on August 28th, and spends winters in the House of Minnie while the rest of the year is spent meandering about the open regions in case of need.

- Earns her money and keeps busy in downtime by teaching people self-defense and military tactics, along with how to fight with just a tree branch for when Pokémon just can't get the job done.

- Built onto the House of Minnie so it could be used as a boarding house/home back for the PGC without people tripping over one another, and had some ninja based help with making a good security system for it.

- Has established an outpost in Kanto/Hoenn/Sinnoh for the PGC so they're always ready for anything that could happen, even if nothing ever does.

- Still wears Leon's jacket when the weather gets cold, even if she's had to patch up the elbows a few times and his scent has long since faded away from it.

-he's also well-known in Celadon for his menswear and formalwear, and he lives near Celadon in a fancy-ass house with his moneycats where he holds fancy dinner parties

-Has finally been able to age since arriving in Johto, and so now looks like this. At age twenty-eight.
-Around the time she started looking fifteen (so, at twenty-one or so) she experienced her first direct flirtation, and highly enjoyed it. She is now an incorrigible flirt with pretty much everyone she crosses paths with, but her favored targets are Xion, Honey, and Saber, the latter mostly because her reactions are hilarious.
-She may or may not be in a committed relationship. If she is, her partner is fine with her flirting, knowing it's all in good fun.
-She's broken off ties with Team Rocket, but she committed at least one fairly heinous crime while still with them, probably related to an attempted Legendary capture.
-She once tried to take over the world. Sort of. It's complicated.
-If Irisviel and Shirou (and maybe Kiritsugu too. Maybe.) have arrived, she makes time to talk to them every day and spends as much time as she can with them. If they haven't, she's probably trying to force the world to bring them to her.
-She does not want kids of her own, but has occasionally put thought into the idea of opening an orphanage for the kids who show up in Johto without guardians. It's never gotten anywhere though.
-Her Pokemon are as scary looking, as adored, and as loyal as ever, but she probably has a frankly absurd number of them now. Berserker is still her favorite, however.
-She's settled into her own odd moral code which mostly revolves around making people happy around her and not worrying too much about things outside her own sphere. It also consists of horrific vengeance upon anyone who dares hurt someone she likes. So no change there.
-She's accepted Saber as a sort of third parental figure. She even gets her presents on Father's Day.
-Once she started actually growing enough that it was viable, she got some sword training from Saber and sparred with Xion. She's not terrific, but she's surprisingly good and very canny in a fight.
-She's a bit of a hedonist. Mostly in terms of good food and excitement, but if she's not in a relationship she probably hops around a little. Saber is likely scandalized.
-She's been most everywhere in the Pokemon world, but she still wanders a lot.

-By now Rose has a lot of photo albums filled with pictures of friends and her kids and their Pokemon, both professional (she requests pictures from Dave) or amateur (because she doesn't care enough to be professional.)
-She still keeps field journals and sketchbooks, filling them up with notes about and sketches of Pokemon in the wild.
-She calls Dave and Jade constantly when they're not visiting, always wanting to check on them and make sure they're okay and eating well and not too cold in the winter and probably sending them scarves and socks and gloves very often.
-She tries to keep John from spamming the network with pictures of their babies, but a lot of the time she just ends up apologizing instead.......

-He's mostly recovered from his fear of rain, although he still stays inside when it's storming
-Never really dated seriously, kind of wants to but is running from the ghost of his parents' failed marriage
-He's also never gone into a canon-update coma (since he has nowhere to canon-update to), so he basically has grown up as good as an orphan, since he never saw his mom again
-He still has a precious baby face but he grows out a beard to make himself look older
-Travels a lot, but is also available as a freelance babysitter for all of his big brothers who ended up with kids (he is great with kids because he's still a big kid himself)

☆ Given that he entered at ~age 19 and it's nearing three years so he's ~22-ish, in ten years Ryner will be approximately 32 years old, give or take. The spitting image of his father, except with brown hair and eyes.
☆ Depending on exactly how canon ends, he'll probably have been eventually canon updated to the end, but I could leave it off at around volume 12 of the sequel or something, idk yet.
☆ He'll have the entire set of Johto badges as well as the elite Viridian badge, solely for the sake of getting the SS ticket. The rest? Why bother with the rest?
☆ His team will still have eggs twice a year, which he'll have begrudgingly accepted as just a thing.
☆ However, he'll have spent most of his time doing research into legends and the like.
☆ If there are ever any travel opportunities to other regions, he'll have obviously taken them. ...Though Striation City makes him uncomfortable, for reasons.
☆ He'll have eventually gotten an actual house with Sion, probably somewhere between Goldenrod and Ecruteak. Don't quote me on this, but I'm thinking something with lots of room for the mons and for libraries, with just a couple of small rooms for the actual human occupants. And definitely a river running through the property with lots of wild Magikarp that hang out that Ryner feeds bread to. Like a koi pond or something, except that they'd be able to come and go at will.
☆ His team... let's be real, he'll probably at least double its size over time, but he'll never hit the box limit. But between grandkids and new rescues and Rose being Rose, he'll probably end up with an even more varied menagerie.

☆ He'll never be 100% used to Johto though, and will always just be expecting that any day now, it'll all be over.
