because this isn't going to be stupid
Tsukiyama is hardly one to talk about being strangely-dressed, given his usual...that; that said, however, this girl is one that more or less demands attention regardless of how much (or how little) she may actually want to attract it - there's just something to be said about beautiful people in public that makes people look. And so look he does, though it isn't long before his attention darts to that massive-ass butterfly that she seems to be really pointedly disregarding somehow - given that he arrived here with nine feet of snake in a ball that really shouldn't have been able to contain nine feet of snake, he can't say that he blames her for it, but it amuses him a bit regardless.
So. Excuse him while he approaches this incredibly lost-looking woman just because she's made it sufficiently impossible for him to not approach her. Clearly this is her doing for seeming a bit out of sorts on a public thoroughfare, out-of-the-way though it may be.
And he's certainly not going to complain either way.]
I don't suppose you have a moment?
you brought that username it's already stupid
Someone like that...it's funny, isn't it, how backwards they are? She's the one wearing black, and he's decked out in a young lady's bright colors. What a little spectacle they make.
Oh, but he's said something — courtesy would demand a reply, then, and hers comes on the form of a slight bow (mostly in her shoulders) and her attention finally turned away from the flowers around her.]
Good morning! It's a very pretty day out, isn't it?
wow rude
So it is! A bit on the warm side, but it's pretty regardless.
[Oh god, are we talking about the weather, we're talking about the weather.]
That's a beautiful dress, by the way, though it's not a sort of style I've seen around here often.

[Borrowed, actually, but she can't very well say that, true or not. Especially not in front of the first person about her age (and a gentleman, at that) that she's seen thus far today.]
— I don't know what's the matter with everyone, to be honest, walking around dressed the way they are. No one seems to mind it in the least — it's as if they haven't even noticed at all!
no subject
Oh, it is all a bit crude - but it's not as though any of them will listen to reason, either.
no subject
It's just shameful, really.
[...]
I wonder if I might ask you something of a strange question?
no subject
[...this is going to either be the best question he's received all week or it's going to go from zero to shitshow in point-six
let's see]
no subject
[...Apparently it's not really "simply" anything, given how she pauses and seems to grasp around mentally for the right phrasing.]
Is there...well, a place you feel as though you ought to be, right now? One that isn't here?
[...wait, shit, that sounded like a passive-aggressive brush-off —]
— That is, may I ask how it is you came to be in this city? Do you live here?
[#catlike grace #nailed it #so smooth #no one saw that]
no subject
...Ah, no, no, I'm not from this place, either. Many of us seem to be in the same situation, really - c'est malheureux, terribly unfortunate all around, but from what I've heard there's not much we can do about it for now besides enjoy the view.
no subject
...well, she's a bit oddly situated when it comes to supposed to be dead and really kind of not as it is, anyway.]
You're a foreigner, but you speak French very well.
[And that is a curiosity to her Victorian English sensibilities.]
That must be nice — do you travel often?
no subject
...It's good that Nishiki isn't here right now, that isn't a particularly fond memory.]
Ahh, not nearly as much as I would like, sadly enough! Before now, my travels were restricted to the worlds shown to me in books - which really isn't a restriction at all, should the authors be competent enough.
