There's a Beautifly bustling around amongst the flowers, but either she hasn't spotted it yet or she's trying very hard to ignore the giant-ass butterfly in her midst; for those accustomed to the wonderful world of Pokemon, however, that's likely not the strangest thing about this little tableau. No, that honor would probably go to the outfit the young woman is wearing (albeit of black fabric instead of white).
It looks as though Celadon City is really the right place for her — this is a city on the cutting edge of fashion, and she appears to be over a hundred years out of style.
Despite this, though, she seems a bit lost. Approach, Y/N?]

Sofia's dress is far simpler, but it doesn't prevent her from a well-practiced curtsy. The Nidorina at her feet scoffs, nose tipping up and away.]
Excuse me, miss! I'm Sofia. Your dress is very beautiful.
no subject
Oh! Well, thank you...it's last year's fashion, but I suppose it's not any the worse for it.
[...]
Should you really be out wandering all alone like this?
no subject
[Amber probably would have, as would the other princesses at school. But they'd had so much more practice at that kind of thing...]
Oh, don't worry. I'm not alone! I have Nadine, here. Say hi, Nadine! [The Nidorina does not say hi, merely grunting her boredom.] Besides... You're out here all on your own, too, aren't you? Are you waiting for someone?
no subject
[Dead, actually, so the point is a little bit moot, but.]
Lost, I think. I wasn't expecting to be here at all.
no subject
[Sofia shrugs off her backpack, pushing aside a few items so she can lift out her atlas easier. The only item she seems to be overly careful with is something rather glittery and tiara-shaped. Back into the pack it goes!]
We're in Celadon City right now! Or... I think so, anyway. Maybe this is the start of one of the routes? [Sofia wanders closer as she turns the pages, brows furrowing.] I'm sorry. I still haven't learned the way around this place, either.
no subject
I see, I appreciate it very much.
[...]
Pardon me, I couldn't help but notice — that jewelry, in your pack...?
no subject
[Sofia looks up from her book, the mention of jewelry causing her hand to automatically close around her amulet. There had been a lot of questioning over it in her past, and things usually hadn't turned out to well when interest was shown. Once it registers that it has nothing to do with her necklace, however, the girl gives a sheepish smile.]
Oh! It's a tiara. [...] Did you want to see it?
no subject
[This is a very young girl, to be carrying around such an expensive thing like that. The signs are pointing toward her being from a very high-class family, at the minimum.]
(no subject)
throws self at you
And by that, the narration means the Beautifly. Bill and his Psyduck seem equally entranced by it — the Psyduck looks more confused than anything, though, and Bill has an expression on his face that suggests this is how he's looked for the past handful of hours regarding everything his old blue eyes have had the privilege of falling on.
But yeah.
That, he thinks, is one heck of a butterfly.
Softly:] Jeez. Woudld'ja look at that.
yes good come to me
Still, even if it's a uniform she doesn't recognize, it's undeniably a uniform he's wearing, all right, and that means he's...presumably at least somewhat trustworthy.
Also it's not as though she has much to fear from the law anymore, even despite the things that had happened to and around her before.]
Beg pardon, sir?
C:
[Bill turns to her, all wonder and smiles. The Psyduck does the same, sans the smiling.]
It's real beautiful. She yours?
no subject
[It's, um. FUCKING HUGE.
She's been kind of pretending it's not actually hanging around the way it is.
Also did you know Beautifly are aggressive, carnivorous, and suck blood BECAUSE THEY SURE DO.]I'm sure it's just here because of the flowers, I don't...
[...wait. Most people around here seem to have an animal as a companion, and this one has been hanging around ever since — ]
...or...well, I suppose it — is there some way to know, really?
no subject
[A helpless shrug; Bill just got here and knows nothing. You could tell him that fun fact about Beautifly and he'd just look at it and go huh. He's still not sure when ducks got the ability to hold their heads and sound like the one following him around does. Or why a woman younger than him insisted she was his mother. Or...]
This thing's been followin' me around for a while now. [He jerks a thumb at the Psyduck.] I think it's supposed to be, uh... a science duck, I think? Sci-duck?
no subject
[She gets up, absently smoothing out her skirts, and turns to look at the Beautifly with squared shoulders, which makes the notably large insect perk up.
Perhaps its mistress is finally going to acknowledge it, after all.]
And what about you, then? Are you mine?
[SHE'S TALKING TO A BUG...]
no subject
[It seems like important information to share, since he kind of... tried...
Bill's attention finally shifts to the girl. He squints at her outfit, head tilted slightly — he supposes he looks strange out here in his uniform, but he can't help wondering what her reason for wearing clothes like that might be. Hm.]
no subject
It does, however, fly up like some kind of batshit avenging angel and start hovering menacingly between the girl and the man with his Psyduck, beating its stained-glass wings with a vaguely warning air.]
...Why — that really is something, isn't it? It's as though it did hear me.
[...]
Perhaps if you tried asking your duck to do something...?
(no subject)
because this isn't going to be stupid
Tsukiyama is hardly one to talk about being strangely-dressed, given his usual...that; that said, however, this girl is one that more or less demands attention regardless of how much (or how little) she may actually want to attract it - there's just something to be said about beautiful people in public that makes people look. And so look he does, though it isn't long before his attention darts to that massive-ass butterfly that she seems to be really pointedly disregarding somehow - given that he arrived here with nine feet of snake in a ball that really shouldn't have been able to contain nine feet of snake, he can't say that he blames her for it, but it amuses him a bit regardless.
So. Excuse him while he approaches this incredibly lost-looking woman just because she's made it sufficiently impossible for him to not approach her. Clearly this is her doing for seeming a bit out of sorts on a public thoroughfare, out-of-the-way though it may be.
And he's certainly not going to complain either way.]
I don't suppose you have a moment?
you brought that username it's already stupid
Someone like that...it's funny, isn't it, how backwards they are? She's the one wearing black, and he's decked out in a young lady's bright colors. What a little spectacle they make.
Oh, but he's said something — courtesy would demand a reply, then, and hers comes on the form of a slight bow (mostly in her shoulders) and her attention finally turned away from the flowers around her.]
Good morning! It's a very pretty day out, isn't it?
wow rude
So it is! A bit on the warm side, but it's pretty regardless.
[Oh god, are we talking about the weather, we're talking about the weather.]
That's a beautiful dress, by the way, though it's not a sort of style I've seen around here often.
no subject
[Borrowed, actually, but she can't very well say that, true or not. Especially not in front of the first person about her age (and a gentleman, at that) that she's seen thus far today.]
— I don't know what's the matter with everyone, to be honest, walking around dressed the way they are. No one seems to mind it in the least — it's as if they haven't even noticed at all!
no subject
Oh, it is all a bit crude - but it's not as though any of them will listen to reason, either.
no subject
It's just shameful, really.
[...]
I wonder if I might ask you something of a strange question?
no subject
[...this is going to either be the best question he's received all week or it's going to go from zero to shitshow in point-six
let's see]
no subject
[...Apparently it's not really "simply" anything, given how she pauses and seems to grasp around mentally for the right phrasing.]
Is there...well, a place you feel as though you ought to be, right now? One that isn't here?
[...wait, shit, that sounded like a passive-aggressive brush-off —]
— That is, may I ask how it is you came to be in this city? Do you live here?
