What the hell!! That's so anticlimactic! [This was the boy's reaction. No, really, he was sure he would get it this time! There was an annoyed frown as he bent down to pick up another stone. He can do it if he wants, he just... wasn't WANTING hard enough this time. That had to be it.]

[Man, if you think she is walking around Johto with anything other than an Espeon ~~and a Mismagius~~ right now, you clearly have not been following along with this "purple, aloof, and utterly-creepy-when-they-stare-at-you" theme, okay.]

(Aelita was calm and patient, holding Togepi in her arms while going over who she should pick to face the Goldenrod Gym Leader: she couldn't go with her starter right away, even if she was the highest-leveled Pokemon she had.)

(As her recently evolved Monferno, her second highest-leveled Pokemon popped out of his Pokeball, Aelita smiled reassuringly at the Fire/Fighting type. On her way through Goldenrod, she heard rumors of the aforementioned Gym Leader crying every single time she lost in a match...but that couldn't be true! Could it?)

Maybe I'll contact Yumi and ask her about it before going to challenge her...

[Well, this certainly was a purrdicament! Nepeta's only ever seen as much grass around her cave, and that felt like forever ago! Not to mention all the weird pink thingamabobs walking around...those must be humans, right? They're a whole lot different than the ones she was observing with her friends! And it seems like they've got their own lusus, too! Karkitty said they didn't...hrm. :\ Must've been mistaken.

Actually, it seems she's got her own mini lusus, a pawsitively adorable pink kitty cat thing! It was a whole lot smaller than Pounce used to be, and wholly different, but it seemed to be following her around a lot. With a kitten-like smile of her own, Nepets picks the Skitty up and decides to explore. In due time, she's approached by Professor Oak and given the brief run-down...which 90% of flies over her head. At the very least, she figured out she's actually become a human, and already she's lamenting the loss of her tail. Boy, she loved her tail...many fun times were has chasing and fighting it. Sigh.

Eh, she's got to address the populace sooner or later, might as well...get it over with. Maybe she'll get lucky and one of her friends will figure out how to get her or...or something.]

[ there's currently some blue-haired dude strolling on down route 29. seems like he just arrived! he also seems to be in a bad mood right now, considering the scowl on his face. following behind him is an eager Farfetch'd, who's dragging the backpack given to everyone upon arrival with it, though it seems it's struggling to keep up with its trainer at the moment. unfortunately, said trainer doesn't necessarily care about the bird pokemon, and is proceeding to continue on walking without so much as turning and sparing a glance to it. he's even ignoring the callings towards him-- "Far-Far-Fetch-Fetch!"

so, do you a.) confront him and scold him for not caring about his Farfetch'd, b.) point out that he needs to wait for his pokemon to catch up, or c.) ignore him and continue on with your business? ]

[On this fine, sunny day in Ecruteak City one can spot a man in a long, red coat (which probably makes him look extremely out of place), sitting on a bench near the local Gym with a small tourist guidebook in his hand. [Sitting down drinking tea outside one ritzy dinning establishment in Goldenrod is a pale-skinned young woman with some ridiculously large twintails. Her frilly and lacy outfit, combined with her obvious poise and grace make her seem like some kind of duchess. Certainly a woman worthy of respect.

...however, the image becomes a bit silly once you turn your head slightly. Off to the side of the young woman is a Gothita, sitting down on a chair much too big for it, mimicking her trainer by drinking from a much smaller teacup in the exact same manner.

There is an open chair in front of her, and should your character approach chances are she'll invite them over for a spot of tea.]

[Meet Homura - or should we say Moemura - who has recently accepted her first Pokémon battle challenge. Watch her as she gracefully throws a Pokéball-

... straight into a garbage can. She falls down right after her Ralts peeks out from the can, looking really confused.]

[Training was going well. Now if only she didn't have a type disadvantage for her upcoming battle. There was nothing she could do about that now, there wasn't any time left to catch and train a new team member. But if it didn't end how she hoped this time there was always next time. Outcomes were hardly set in stone, she knew that. It was hard to let her worries take hold when her Oshawott was so determined, Hinata had a good feeling about this battle.]

A young man in a long, blue military coat is sitting on a log on the outskirts of a city, an expression of consternation on his face as he tries valiantly to sharpen something long and metal he has propped against his knee. A Houndour is sprawled out across the log beside him, little flames fluttering around its nose as it snores. After a moment, he sets the stone aside, looks the makeshift blade over, and stands up. He looks around, eyes landing on a tree, then falls into a fighting stance.

With a yell, he charges forward and slashes at the tree with a practiced motion. But...

...well.]

[He storms back to pick up the stone and try again, consternation fading into outright aggravation.]
